Hacking dsi xl 1.4.0 has blank screen with ds two card

I have just got a dsi xl for my daughter for xmas,but cant get the supercard ds two to work.

I have followed the guide on how to make it work,but it wont.

I get the alex rider sign,but the top screen just goes blank.

my dsi xl is on 1.4.0 firmware

I have the _dstwo folder,and the ds2boot.dat file in the root but still nothing.

I have a 1gb micro sd card

can anyone please help
