Hacking dsi lite r4i kernel problems

got a D's lite.with a r4i upgrade 1.4. I'm having trouble setting it up can you set it up of a phone iv downloaded the kernel.v1.84b extracted the 4 files but I get a red menu? Please help or is it no longer available

You don't have The right kernel or you didn't extract it properly

The kernel was 1.84b from r4i-shsd and I downloaded on my phone extracted with rar app. I got 4 files copied them to SD on my phone. What else do I need to do?

Obviously took SD out of phone put in r4i card put it in ds light it says star wars click on it iv tried 2 kernels is the card to old

Alternatively you could use YSmenu as well, I recommend YSmenu over the R4i kernel due to the time bombs.
