Hacking DSi LED's

Why did they add a 3rd LED? There is no reason for this and it just makes things more confusing to the average costumer. Also why did they move the LED's to the left and change the colors?

Hahaha...just because it has two "slots" for light, it doesn't mean it just has two LEDs....
