As long as Trump is there, there's nothing for them to defend at this point. He's gone so far beyond corrupt, it's laughable. He's destroying the economy, he got into new wars, etc. They know how fucked it is, but they'd never have the character to admit it. Instead, they'll take the chicken's way out.
