What the Hell?

y would you lock a thread for no reason, i think its stupid to lock a thread, if you don't like the fact that the people you call noobs are enjoying themselves, then don't look at the thread, i like reading about it personally, i think theres nothing wrong with just letting them keep trying, theres so many people in on this and your just gonna stop it by locking this thread??

There's nobody in on anything in this thread. It's mostly a bunch of people coming up with impractical theories, people offering to test vapourware, people passing on fake info and a handful actually adding to the conversation.

Alright just run with me on this for a second...

Did you guys ever consider that we may never see a soft-mod due to all the flashcart manufacturers? I mean if there was a soft-mod, there wouldn't be any need to own a flashcart anymore, especially since the DSi has a built in SD card reader. Now lets just say that someone was making a soft-mod (which we have all heard before), and made it public. What's to keep one of the major flashcart manufactures from offering them say... $10,000 USD to not release it? It may be a steep price but it would surely be less that the loss they would receive from a drop in sales. Put yourself in that developers shoes, what would you do?

Just a thought...

I doubt it'd stop them, because they'd probably only announce it when they released it, so the flashcard companies wouldn't have time to pay them off, it'd already be out in the open. Do you not think modchip manufacturers would have tried this with consoles if it was really possible? Besides, it's possible we may actually need a flashcart to DO the softmod. Dunno for sure like, but it's possible I reckon.

But the flashcart can only operate in DS mode and can't do anything with the DSi. All we need to do is be able to copy a Homebrew Channel over and make apps for it, and there we go.

Yeah, I meant once we get a DSi mode flash cart, which will no doubt happen sooner or later

well just because there would be a soft mod, or a homebrew channel, whatever you wanna call it, there are still people who have Ds Phats and Lites, and people who don't want to take the chance of doing something like that to an almost $200 piece of equipment, plus, i would probably still use a flash cart even if something like this pulled through, they're reliable, at least to me

Wait.

Whats vapourware
I Havent read this thread for ages
vapourware is a term used for software which is talked about but never actually appears. Like vapour just sorta disappears. No, there isn't actually some DSi hack called vapourware that people are offering to try.

i think we should change the direction of this topic to the art of brewing beer at home. that'd be awesome.
My dad brews his own beer here. He's got his 2nd batch nearing completion in their barrels. It was pretty good last time too.
