Hacking DSi Firmware = Blocking Out Flashcarts?

I was coming up with a theory that with the new firmware, it would come with some sort of protection against all the flashcarts on the market right now. Seeing as Nintendo weren't happy with the R4, and how they also said about how they wanted to stop the manufacturing of it, it does make sense. Of course I'm not saying it will definately happen, but it's possible, right?
