can u buy any case mods for the dsi and do u recommend metal protectiv casing for it

it looks awsome

No I don't know of any case mods you can buy for the DSi, try googling it.

And yes I would recommened casing but I don't know about like straight up metal casing, I haven't seen that. Alot of people prefer the crystal and silicone cases, you can get them off deal extreme.

Please add this to the FAQ:
(per this thread)

The Wifi On/Off (in the system/settings menu) will not affect the battery life. It is for disabling wireless communications while around sensitive electronic equipment and/or when such activity may be restricted (airplane, hospital). This is from a communication with an actual Nintendo customer support person.

Wow thanks for that info GhostToast, I'll add it.

(BTW today's my birthday and I get my DSi today!

I have a DS Phat and I'm thinking about upgrading, I also haven't gotten into buy any flash carts yet so I'm still new in this area. I'm thinking about upgrading, but I'm wondering if I should get a DSL or DSi, is it worh the extra 50 bucks? Also I'm wondering how the flash cart support its so far the DSi since its so new.

Well I suggest you check the FAQ in the first post, and then search around the forums a little bit. Sorry I can't go in depth too much I'm camping at the moment and posting via the DSi browser which suprisingly good (better than the PSP's and alot of phones).

I have read the FAQ, but it answer my question very vaguely, is it woth 180 dollers? when I could probably find a DSL used for so much less?

Well it's worth it if:

1. You don't have a camera of your own
2. You want to try and soft mod your DSi so that you won't have to use flashcarts when someone figures out how
3. You want to play DSi homebrew that uses the extra ram, and processors, and cameras when hackers unlock DSi mode
4. You want to play DSi Ware and possibly, when and if it comes out, GBA/GBC games as virtual console downloads.
5. You have the extra 50 bucks laying around

Not worth it if:

1. You just want to play DS games, not DSi Ware, etc.
2. You're short on cash
3. Etc.

Update: Added question that explains how to set a permanent wallpaper at the top and if stickers affect how the wallpapers are picked randomly, I added question containing a link to my DSiWare reviews topic, and a question that tells you how many volume levels the DSi has.

Hello

Well, i've got a question.
Sometimes, after having closed my DSi, and leaving it for closed for ten minutes or so, it shuts itself down.
I don't know if it happens when I close it, but so far it only happened while playing on my Acekard,
which has got other problems as well. Could it be that anything is wrong with my DSi?

Thanks in advance!

Hmm, if you have to charge it again after that happens it might be the battery.

Try doing it on a regular game and see if it happens. Also try doing it again on your Acekard but with the lowest brightness and the volume at none.

Ok so say I want to cover all my bases, I have the DS Phat and I want a flashcart now, but I may upgrade to a Lite or a DSi, which ones should I look at that will work for all of them? Or maybe I could just get a cheap on that definitely works on DS and Lite and see if homebrew ever happens to the DSi? Whats a recommended for both scenarios? Also stupid questions but do you need a slot 1 flashcard to do GBA games, or is it possible to do them with a slot 2 flashcard?

Currently all flashcarts that work on the DSi also work on the other two DS's, so if you want to cover all the bases just get an iTouch2 or an Ak2i (or wait for the M3 Reali).

Well a slot 1 flashcart would require a GBA expansion to play GBA games, but I'm pretty sure slot2 2 flashcards can play them by themselves...but they're kind of outdated...

Any easy fix to protected mp3s are to burn them to a CD then rip them, then they will be unprotected and you can convert them in iTunes. There are also some converters out there but only a select few are free and actually work.
