DSi Browser Exploit Found

Last night Nathan Farlow released "stylehax", a new exploit for the DSi which uses the web browser.

With the DSi web browser being on most DSi consoles, this will greatly benefit users who don't have Flipnote Studio installed and can't load the Memory Pit exploit due to broken cameras. View the source code for the exploit here: https://github.com/nathanfarlow/stylehax

In order to run the exploit just place "boot.nds" on the root on your SD card and then load http://stylehax.net/ in the browser*.

*note that it often freezes. The DS(i) Mode Hacking! server on discord has found that loading opera:about or http://google.com/ before stylehax will (usually) fix any freezing. Also remember to give it 30 or more seconds to load.

compare to flashcart, what is better ? i heard many guy fully install cfw on dsi but not even tried it yet
Flashcards and CFW both have advantages
CFW has full access to DSi mode and such, and can be run at boot
Flashcards have better compatibility with (old) DS homebrew and some DS games

Nice!

Yet another reason for Nintendo not to give us a web browser on the Switch though 😂

Finally got around to checking and the browser is indeed still on the Shop in Japan, so this is especially useful for Japanese consoles as they're guaranteed to be able to run it.

Korea has only the 3DS Transfer Tool, and the USA has nothing at all. Can't check Europe, but last I heard it still had the 3DS Transfer Tool.

I think european models came with the browser, mine had it. I'll check if it's still on the shop

I think that's right, same for US models, (specifically I think all XLs and smalls that came out after the XL) however pre-installed apps can be deleted and not redownloaded unless they were actually 'purchased' from the shop when it was up. So it's actually better that Japanese consoles didn't preinstall it lol

Fully correct. The only thing available in the European graveyard DSi Shop is that transfer thing (not counting re-downloads). Just checked it again to make double sure.

Yeah, Spain, only 3ds transfer tool available. If I go to downloaded content it doesn't show the browser, only the transfer tool

Edit: dsi shop music....my god how good it is, forgot about it
Also in data management you can't delete the browser, it doesn't even show as a title

huh, that's really weird... It does on Japanese and American consoles, you sure you didn't just miss it on page 2?

Yep, pretty sure. Unless this is like emunand or something because I use Hiya cfw
Edit: Scratch that, yeah I've deleted the browser earlier and thought it was the hiya cf one but it seems I actually deleted from data management and there's no way to reinstall it on sysnand

If you have the rom for it then you can use NTM to install it back on NAND. https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-ntm-nand-title-manager-for-dsi.606244/
I've found it to be a pretty safe tool, or at least as safe as one can get when messing with NAND.
