In that case.

The World Ends With You
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
Chrono Trigger
Lunar Knights
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker
Phantasy Star Zero
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time

You should try Dragon Quest V regardless of the random battles. The game has a nice narrative, if you care about that.

Also, I recommend Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes. No random battles, and features a unique battle system.

thanks haflore.

@Mr. Positive ive played it. its one of the reasons why i hate random battles. the game is good story wise, dont get me wrong.
i just really dont like the idea of random battles anymore,it just really seems outdated because of what games are like now.
im just saying.

can anyone else list some no random battle RPG's

Agreed, in the olden days it was because of technical limitations, but now designers get away with it because it's what we're used to... sort of like how there's no actual technical limitation preventing one country's DVDs/PS2/whatever games from playing on another country's system, they're just getting away with the lockout because people are traditionally used to it.

Also agreed, for the most part. Some games actually benefit from it and wouldn't feel quite right without them, such as Nostalgia and FFIV(rate's too high on this one).
