Hacking ds repair project

my friend said he would sell his ds with a smashed lower screen for 30 dollars AUS
and dx has the touch screen module and screen for pretty cheap

thing is ive never opened up a ds before and all those guides ive seen dont make sense to me

should i try anyways?

i find it very easy to do, but apparently alot of in-experienced people have probs with it. if you do decide to go ahead with it then you'll need a triwing screwdriver

The lower screen is pretty much the hardest thing to replace... (The touch screen and LCD are seperate...)

Another thing you will need to check is whether the mother-board has taken any damage, as that is irreplacable.

The lower screen actually isn't that hard... You just remove the screws from the bottom part of the DS, lift the bottom part up, and tadah, you have the bottom part of the circuit board revealed with the touch screens clamps.

This might sound dumb, but I could possibly put the touch screen in for you if you're to skeptical about it.

I've replaced a whole case on mine but I accidently broke the power switch off just at the end. Had to get a new one resoldered

If you take your time with it and follow the guides it should be easy enough to do.
