Hey all,
So, I'm very curious, why does it seem like everyone who does a DS Lite to "GBA" conversion seem to want to go single panel only, ie, sort of a candybar format vs the clamshell with the closing lid.
I can understand the desire to eliminate the second screen, as well as shrink the size and weight. Is there a reason more people don't just eliminate the second screen, though, fabricate a replacement upper panel, and leave the lid intact? It would protect the screen better, and provide better positioning with less work for the speakers and such. It would also eliminate the need for such extreme modding of the cabling and all that. Additionally, it would allow for a very easy return to the stock format for resale.
Of course, I refer to reasons aside from basic aesthetic choices and the "why not" mentality.
