Gaming DS Lite Cartridge Reader Broken?

I just got a ds lite and its has a weird issue, if I put a cart in and turn it on it will auto load a game but if I put the cart in when its on the home menu it wont show the game on the menu, Ive tried 3 different games and none of them show in the menu but all boot if put in before powering on, do I need a new cartridge reader or is it something else?

Thats normal.

You can change the auto boot in the ds settings

If you want to see the menu then just hold start or select( one of the 2 I can't renember) at boot

Guess im jsut used to the dsi/3ds then lel. So I cant hotswap games from the home menu on dslite?
