but it would be cool to show firends a ds game running with no cart in the slot

No one's doubting it at this point. We got DS Download Play in. All we need to do is edit the DS ROMs themselves to make them work with a DSiWare scenario.
a problem with that is pokemon bws to big to fit in dsi ware so you would have to make an sd loader for that

Use the Mario Kart DS download play demo. Or one of the other download play demos.

Well, uh, guess that means gen 5 Pokemon is out of the question for now.

would injecting nds firmware with this work
Not for much.
- IF IFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF it loaded DS games, it'd still load DS cart 1, not from SD.
- We have DS Download Play in the 3DS app
- We have a PictoChat CIA
- It wouldn't load GBA anything
- We have AGB_FIRM injects
- We'd have to complete setup, including username, color, other settings. This requires a restart at the end, and when you reset it, it would act like you never set up anything. Repeat infinite loop.

Then don't demand we do the hacking for you. A $10 R4 flash card, an 8GB SD card, and some downloaded ROMs is really all you need.
then i end up wasting 10 dollars when ds rom loading is possible

what needs to be looked at is how the slot 1 works because its still reading it off the cart but all its reading is the rom chip on the cart witch as the rom on it

Still got a few ideas left with the distributor and how to fix it, stay tuned
Could this consequently fix cartridge games, and at least make them boot?

An average MicroSD would fit more than the DSi NAND space. And besides, what else would you use the cart slot with, what with CIAs?

sd loading agbflirm does it so idk why you can't just edit dsi ware so it uses sd card instead to store game and not nand

It's not nearly that easy. A GBA inject through AGB_FIRM fits into RAM, it doesn't load from ROM or NAND like DSi/DS carts have to. That's why there's no loading times in game.

That's also why the Mario Kart DS download play ROM works.

ds download titles say communication error if you would inject them though if there not demos or mini games

does any one know how the slot one loading works though

Of course they would. There's no other game for them to connect to.

how does slot 1 loading work though if we won't to load ds roms we need to look in that area and not dsiware
We don't need to reverse engineer the DS's cart loading mechanics to get it to load from DSi NAND. We just need to modify the DS ROMs to work the same way the DSi nds files do.

Thats why we need to revese engineer slot one instead then we don't have limitations on how big the game can be the nds has been fully hacked so i don't see why its so hard
