No it wouldn't work like that.

Welp, My r4itt New only hangs on white screen, but at least is something since before it didn't boot. funny thing is that long time ago when this flashcard used to work and a friend lend me a O3ds 4.2 (the flashcard was compatible and usable) I did put the YSmenu kernel on my SD card, and when I tried to open it the YSmenu kernel crashed while loading a Rom and I had to restart a 3DS, after that the card stopped working. when I tried to load the r4 it'd just crash on "An error has occurred" black screen (the same error that you get when you need to update the r4's firmware in order to make it work in later firmwares or you try to play a GBA rom without the AGB_FIRM installed, etc).

I'm also trying with another R4i SDHC (very old) and It only has a white icon and white banner in the homemenu, and When I try to open it, It also hangs on double white screen on DS mode.

From the sounds of your post, you aren't doing it quite right. You're supposed to open a CIA converted DSi-enhanced ROM. That's what is going to boot your card. Not the patch that was recently released.

This can be used to unblock flashcards that where blocked on DSi version 1.4.4 or earlier

It'll be interesting to try this once patches are out for N3DS. I'd much rather use my old Acekard than the GW blue card.

That isn't a new thing.

I was talking about cards that are blocked with the eeprom check in TWL FIRM.
You can't downgrade the n3ds TWL firm to 4.5 since the n3ds never existed on 4.5, afaik. I could be wrong though.

Yup. Atm, rxTools doesn't do anything for TWL_FIRM and AGB_FIRM on N3DS.

What prevents an existing DS flashcard from working in DSi mode?

Could the TWL_FIRM be patched to give a way around this?
