Homebrew DS(i) Mode hacking progress thread

I don't like TWLoader too much. I don't know why it requires the installation of 2 CIAs plus it wants the nds files in a dumb specific folder.
hbmenu works great.

TWLoader was build as a modern and powerful hw/nds/flashcart/forwarder launcher in ctr mode.
The old hbmenu is in TWL mode and it is hard to add features to it (I think we got an old source code only).
Because TWLoader is in CTR mode, it can handle complicated tasks and can have more privileges. Because nds hw/backups/flashcarts can be launched only from TWL mode, TWLoader need 2 cias: CIA installed to CTR NAND and another one installed to TWL nand.

Progress is been made on a NDS games loader, some games load but very slowly (a christmas release has been teased)

@ahezard just tested SM64 DS EUR with TWL mode and commit 29e7f0 (currently latest), still broken (no nintendo title screen after 2 minutes), just letting you know.

Edit : just tested the latest commit (cbe804), still the same situation with SM64 DS EUR, also, twilight princess trailer now crashes as soon as you try to play the trailer (didn't test the previous commit.)

You MIGHT want to look at the people involved and their previous work in the scene. It certainly won't be perfect (or even close) for quite some time but this certainly is no prank.

My bad, I didn't mean to insult the people involved and the progress made.

I apologize to the developers for even saying that, I probably meant to say something else but made a poor choice of words...

Edit: Only a few days left until release, the waiting is becoming increasingly unbearable.

OK, i just tried the latest commit (26eb871b8d30d3882bc7ad88d3dddfaffbff0e83), wow!!!
The loading time is super fast (in comparison with the older commit).
With Layton and the curious village, only 1m ~ 1m30s to boot, (before it was 8m).
There are still slowdown, though.
