Hacking ds charging issue :/

Ok basically my DS either is broken, the battery is gone, or 2 of my chargers are screwed up.


Essentially light on the ds won't indicate it is getting power from the charger and the battery shows that that is correct since it just dies after 1 second. Will the *old ds* work with only the charger and not the battery attached or do they both need to be connected?

If my ds is shot it is it worth just getting a ds lite / dsi refurbished or something?

you could try to replace the power jack.

If it turns on and the screen flashes white, the fuse has been blown. Not a battery issue.

Try playing without the battery (should be easy to remove). If that fails, you might wanna give this a shot http://m3wiki.com/index.php/Nintendo_DS_Li...le_(blown_fuse)

The original (AKA Phat) DS supposedly did work without the battery if the charger cable was plugged in.

So its the ds or the charger than. since the battery works for a brief second.

like iguana said, it's probably the fuse inside the ds.
