Gaming DS Charges but dosent turn on?

A few years ago my brother angerly threw my ds at the wall. After that it wont turn on but it charges and when i shake the ds, i hear some crackling or something. It charges though but wont turn on. Any help guys? Its a ds lite black

Sounds like the charger port to me, if it is what i think it is then you might need a new DS.
Punch your brother for hurting such a loving console.

no it charges fine the charging light stays lit.

Well you can just get one off cheap from kijiji or craigslist, I've seen some for on $25

I had similar issue. Inductors broke. In my case L5 and L6. Had to solder new ones. L5 and L6 are 10µH afaik.
