I suppose its still turn based, not real time,he?

so not for me, but well, its nice for the classic rpg fans that they finally get this version here in europe.

Real time RPG are usualy just adventure games (zelda) we dont really call them RPG's, then theres things like tales series and star ocean where its battles are real time (sorta) but are still random generated. So yeah this day and age the Hybrids of RPG's are lots, more and more action games use tons of rpg elements to the point the look like action/rpg's. I dont mind rpg elements in my games but usually I prefer turn based rpg for when i want to enjoy a story driven game and action rpg's for when I want to enjoy a gaming and graphics game. I dont think(besides rocket slime) theres any action RPG's of the DQ franchise so it be weird, its like Reside evil releasing a turn based resident evil haha *Jill Valentine Casts Head Shot and it crits for 200 damage. The Zombie is slain.* Jill Earns 20 xp.

It would be funny but dont think many ppl would be up for such things. And yeah DQ6 is a classic for ppl outside of japan to enjoy in their language plus its portable wich is one of the things I like about my ds and 3ds now I just need tales of the Abyss 3d to release and Ill be happy (or DDSO3d but its a FP RPG/Strat)

like it for the music and chara design, and heroic fantasy universe
dislike cuz most of them are not playable without an online walktrough at some points (too huge world(s), not a clue of a hint.. wtf ?)

il pick this one up i havent played it so far, along with the 9 (currently trying to complete the ps2 DQ V. once in a while ^^)

"We" don't call them RPGs?
who you call "we"?

Games from the Mana Series are for example clearly RPGs in real time.
Other examples are Tales of Phantasia, Crystal Chronicles, Terranigma...gosh, so many.
Maybe you could say that Zelda and Okami are more action-adventures, but they clearly have many RPG elements.

Maybe you should check wikipedia: Wikipedia_Action_RPGs

Toriyamas art is so UNIQUE, its very easy to tell it apart
tongue.gif

Also about the name change, I dont think its because American kids woudnt understand certain words. I guess some words are more commonly used in the US than here.

Akira toriyama sucks balls these days... all of his characters look the same. chrono is goku and that blue haired guy is goku SS.
Not that I dont like his art style. But come on, its getting old... always the same faces...

DQ VI is different though - after some time you get to meet some kind of clairvoyant and after that you can consult her every time you are confuzzled and she will tell you were to go.

I really like that because most of the time I have several days pause between my play sessions and I don't always remember what was going on..
