If you can find a viewing angle you can deal with, this game isn't too bad. I find angle 5 to be the most tolerable. I'm sure a lot of you younger people don't appreciate pinball, but this is the kind of stuff I grew up with.....there weren't many videogames back then. Most arcades were filled with pinball machines. Ahh, those were the days.
The ball physics are pretty decent in this, but the flippers seem a little weak.
If I have any real complaint about this game, it's that none of the tables are based on real ones, they're just a bunch of made up ones.
Bah! I'm somewhere inbetween the young and old here but I still love pinball. I've played many arcade tables and many PC pinball games. I have to say I was really hoping to be impressed by this game...but it hasn't done any impressing so far. I've got a gripe with nearly everything in this game. Sound effects are scratchy sometimes. There are 7 different camera views and about 5 of them are unplayable. More specifically the camera will not follow your ball fast enough or give you a wide enough angle to know where you are flipping the ball. I find 7# the most playable. But on camera 7, and with most of the other angles too the graphics are grainy and shifting...the flippers are weak, and hitting ramps is difficult. I haven't come across any mini-game like features like you would see in most pinball these days. Even the older arcade pinball I've played had some sort of bonus game to play inbetween. There is no rumble feature, which would have helped. The tables are very generic...non are standout. They lack interesting features or challanges specific to each table.
UGHH...camera 1# and camera swings made me nearly barf from vertigo.
If you are going to try to make the most of this game do it with default camera 7#, 3d display on top and camera swings off.
I don't know what else to say...metriod pinball kicks the crap out of this...I'll keep trying to enjoy it for the sake of pinball...but I don't know how much more I can take.
Hah! This is a port of a fairly hyped but crappy PC pinball game from, what, 3 years ago? More? Same exact concerns about the lousy angles. Consensus was that the only playable angle was all-on-screen...maybe just a MITE small on the DS. Lame. I think it may have sold okay because there weren't any other pinball games for a couple of years.
And I agree about the not-real-tables thing - just a different feel when they're based on something real and tested.
Are ports of mediocre-to-crappy PC games considered shovelware, or do they have their own name?
Pinball of the Dead.
Yeah, it's goofy.
GBA Pokemon Pinball (ruby and emerald) is actually pretty fun, if a bit easy on the surface. Obviously the experience is highened if you like Pokemon.
Blitz games are working on an new DS Pinball game based on a Nintendo franchise, well they were untill they split into many micro studios, don't know if that was axed as a result.
I would like Pinball Dreams on the DS, worked very well on the Gamepark 32.
Of course we all know the best Pinball game ever is Kirbys Pinball Land.
I will give this a go but from what you guys have said not hoping for much, roll on Alien Crush 2 coming Wii Ware.

ÂÂÂÂÂÂSometimes when you are there dreaming you just wonder...pinball.
1903 Cinnamon Ball: Kurukuru Sweets Paradise was essentially a Pinball game. It was cute but pretty easy to finish. I guess that's what you get with games geared towards young children. I certainly enjoyed Metroid Prime Pinball a lot, so I'll check this out, sounds interesting.

Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
