RE4 didn't have the tank like controls. It was every RE before it, they finally got the controls right in RE4. And if the controls in Instecticide are tank like, I'm not sure if I even want to play it. But I'll still give it a go. Maybe I'll find something about it that I like.

RE4 had almost the exact same controls as every RE before it. The only difference being that you could free aim in RE4, but otherwise it was essentially the same. The thing that set RE4 apart from the other games was the camera system. Rather than a static camera, the camera always stayed behind Leon's back. Otherwise, it was tank controls. Go back and play it again. Up on the analog stick is still always forward; down on the stick always moves Leon back, etc.

On topic, Insecticide follows a similar approach control-wise and camera-wise to that of RE4.

So far, I'm liking the game, but then again, I don't expect the DS to handle things like an X-Box 360 or PS3. I'm realistic. I already know the DS is an underpowered system that is barely able to accomplish what it does.

Silly question, but how do you lock on? I found no lock-on......

Hold A, if I remember right.

Control sensitivity is adjustable in the options.....

Aye, but still... I've found odd that you rotate the camera with the Right/Left arrows instead of stepping to the corresponding direction, like in about almost every shooter out there. I could have missed something that made it beheave "properly", though.

I need a hack to take the action bits out! Its nice that they attempted a console like experience but the DS is not like the PSP, even if it had the power its just not its style to do these sort of 3D games.

I think I'm nearer to the end, I enjoyed the story, graphically investigating is very nice but the action is just like those movie cash in, in fact it kinda reminded me of Meet the Robinsons only that it didn't play as well (the only problem with that game is the crap level design).

I really hope that there is an sequel or a Wii version (not played the PC one but perhaps that could be ported). If there is a DS sequel than I hope they either remove the action segments or make them more suited to the DS.

I don't get it... I really like the action bits ! I kinda dislike the investigate bits... (stuck in the 1st investigating place).

It is really easy... change to touch controls. Use A once to lock on and keep locked. B to jump X to look around and try that while avoiding attacks.

Good stuff.

Well, I couldn't use the touch-control option because there doesn't seem to be a left-handed option, but like you, I enjoy the action elements of the game. My wife was cursing up a storm last night when she started the game, having fell countless times, but I had no problem with it. However, also like you, I'm still stuck at the first crime scene.

Anyone got spoilers?

Meh, this game is a huge disappointment, for me at least. But then again, I'm quite a perfectionist ...

The dialog, on the other hand is fantastic, but the action sequences and some downright stupid puzzle solutions ruin it for me

The office or murder?
I guess the murder since the cop office isn't really a crime scene is it

Doing this from memory only so excuse some minor mistakes.
Speak with the other insects if you want some of the game's humor, go behind the stage and talk with the beebot.
He won't move so go to the guy insect and ask him to move the beebot left and then make him bow. Then quickly go to the beebot and get the turnkey from him.
Check out the dead body and grab the bag and the script, also use the turnkey on the fallen beebot's cover.
Investigate the script and get the paperclip.
Go upstairs (where the silly beebot was blocking your way) and check out the box.
Use the paperclip on the key and break it. Use the broken paperclip on the hinges. Tadaa, it opened.
Grab the knife and go above the stage.
Investigate the hanging decoration.
Cut the rope with the knife.
Go downstairs.
Check out the fallen decoration and grab the thing that fell from it.
Speak to Croachy.

Anyway I find the buttons to be better even though the turning is really, really slow. The investigation parts are kind of fun but the whole game has this unpolished feel to it

Ahh! Thanks man. I did everything but...

check the script to find the paperclip. I knew I needed to get into that box somehow, and that it will give me something to get that ornament down.

Thanks a bunch.

Um, how do you avoid getting smashed by the trains/railcars? I am trying to hop back and forth, maybe my timing is just awful.

I just stayed on the one track on the left side, and hopped over the train (double-jumping) anytime it came by.

coming back to this jewel after getting frustrated by nanostray 2 (for now).

I got over the train thing (only one try... never died ^^) and still like the aciton elements. I'm now in that local thingy... (wow, never seen such love to detail in a DS 3D game !)

Anyway. I got those blank contenst forms, talked to anyone and took a look at the other stuff.. anyone carse to tell me what to do next ?
