I just replaced my New 3DS XL screen, and everything went surprisingly well! At least, until I opened my 3DS, and found that my circle pad is drifting so badly that I can’t even move to the left on the home menu. I tried calibrating it, I tried taking my 3DS apart again to unplug it and plugging it back in, but I’m having the same issue.
Does anyone have any advice? Why would it suddenly start doing this, I don’t see any physical damage on the cable? Did this happen to anyone else before?
I want to try taking the circle pad from my old 3DS XL and putting it in this one to test if the issue is with the circle pad itself, but are the old and new 3DS circle pads compatible?
Thank you!
Edit: Actually, now I don’t know if it’s the circle pad? It forces me to scroll to the right on the home menu, but only the home menu. Maybe there’s something wrong with the touch screen?
Edit: IT’S THE C STICK. I think. If I open a game then return to the home menu, it works until I touch the C stick. Also, another weird thing, the home button doesn’t work on the home menu? I can press it to exit a game, but not to return to the suspended game.
Final edit: My brain was not working when I wrote this. I put the R button ribbon cable on backwards. All the problems went away when I turned it back around. Whoops.
