Saves are super easy to edit. To learn how to properly CRC read my thread on TriForce Heroes. That had a lot of good information for beginners on how to do save edits.

Sorry for bumping this, but with this checksum error when hex editing saves, is it expecting much for a working save editor to be available in the coming weeks? I do understand from previous posts that more testing is needed, but is this a new situation?
Just use NTR plugin and you're fine.

You probably didn't read the thread here, did you. The DQ7 saves corrupt if you change anything, they will get deleted once you start the game. I just edited the value for money and that corrupted it already. No idea what the issue was.

ZTH is easy to edit and finding CRC as they are placed so obviously. This could be done even by my 6yrs old niece. I've done a lot saveeditors with and without CRC checks but DQ7 CRC is not that easy - or I am just too old to focus on the right values. I thought it could be a CRC32 check but then with all the 2 byte values it could be CRC16 (CRC/CCITT). But tbh, I used GW/NTR so I don't put much time into finding CRC offsets.

CRC16? That would be surprising. It could use something like Whatever MH4U used

re-read it then :P
yeah, mostly they using CRC32 but CRC16 is also possible as we know. Zelda Ocarina of Time is using CRC16 in a stupid way :P

:edit:
sorry for being off-topic

I did read the thread, it sounds like you didn't read it. The first page alluded to the CRC checksum that has to be edited but no one seems to have found it yet. http://gbatemp.net/threads/release-zelda-triforce-heroes-save-editor.400518/ Read my thread, there's a lot of back and forth with how to figure out the CRC checksum location so you can properly edit the saves.
I read all 16 pages of this thread but only see mention of the checksum or CRC32 in the OP and in talks about creating GUI or Web versions. I see no discussion on finding and then calculating a new CRC based on the changes made. I looked at the source for the EXE and the website linked for the actual code but these gave me no insight into how the addresses were found or how the calculations needing to be done were discovered. Could you point me to a page or post that goes over what you're talking about?

The posts must have been deleted from the thread. There was a few back and forth going over how to locate the CRC value but the short of it was this. Save, export, save export, save, export. Compare the 3 files. There shouldn't be too much that changed and there will always be roughly 8 bytes that actually change at a specific offset. The bytes should be the reversed CRC32 value generated based off of a starting and ending offset. Honestly that's about as much as I can remember. I just remember when I was told this I was able to find the offsets extremely fast and then worked with someone else on a tool since I don't program.

Hello again. Would it be possible for someone that can use cheat plugins to help me again? This time to max money and max casino coins/tokens. Also, if possible, to max the money i have in the bank. I have the European version, by the way. Thank you.

Hello again, is there anyone available for my above request? Thank you.
I tried the speedfly plugin just for your save. So I maxed Casino jetsons. I cannot read all options as I have the same screen problem like the posted one.
So give it a try. Maybe it work or not.

What's really cool about Pi's tho is you can have multiple SD cards with different OS on each SD card and change from say a gaming machine to a full fledged pc if wanted
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Plus all bios are set up and usually includes at least 128gbs or 64
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah but if your main goal is just to play n64 and GameCube you can save about $50 and have the portability option

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
True, but on 2 monitors at 4k. Its just want you want really, to each they own.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
For a kids aspect Anbernic would be the better option they'd probably melt over the price on a good 4k display

For that texasroo guy, I'd recommend the Spell and speak as his first system.

So they buy a pi5 kit for about $150 and say a 28" 4k display probably looking around $400 total
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They'll be getting in the territory of portable Pcs anyway

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Again you get what you pay for, its like buying a S series for $300 but its only 1440p native, if you want true 4k, gotta get the X model for $500. But yea you right, when moms buying it anyways, you gotta stay cheap.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They could use HD out on their TV no real need for a monitor these days tbh the purists will disagree
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I'm kind of phasing out on the need for wanting all these consoles cool to have but they just become dust build ups
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I here ya there, I have too many myself, and have hard time letting them go, since most of mine I've modded at some point. Anymore I just play Switch on the go, seriesx at home.

I'm designing my own entertainment cabinet for my man cave, to store all my systems, then I'm also designing a power supply/HDMI switcher so I can switch to whichever system I want, and power it also. Already picked up the cabinet board, but tinkering with my drawings before start
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
But yea, I have frogger arcade cabinet that I gutted and put a Pi4 then Pi5 into, but it never gets played much anymore, should sell it. Even when the kids come over, they don't want to play on it, just the xbox. TMNT and Simpson's arcade is still so fun on it, esp w 2 players.
