Man, I can't stop going on about this game. I know it's not for everyone, but man, I love it. I finished the "final boss" last night, only to find that there's almost an entire game after that. It's kinda like finishing the Elite Four in Pokemon and then going on to all the new areas. But it's actually much better, in my opinion, because there's story tied to it, and the characters really come alive through the art design.

As an aside, I got a metal bubble slime for having over 100 different monsters in my library -- awesome! I'll have to fill up my spell library too. Perhaps I'll get another metal slime for acquiring over 100 for that. Then there's the 200 requirement too, which will yield more good stuff.

Can't wait to go to Infern again now. Hopefully there'll be even more new monsters.

Got over 46 hours in with Joker. Not bad for a DS game. Plus I sense there's at least another 10-20 to come.

Out of curiosity, what's in your team?

Currently:

dark slime (that's correct)
demon-at-arms
wight knight

I'm weighing my options now

, but probably gonna use the wight knight to eventually synth a zoma>rhapthorne 2 (if I don't give up before I can actually do that); will use the demon-at-arms to synth a malroth>zoma; and the dark slime, which has been the hardest to create a synth line for, will probably synth into either a dark slime knight>bone baron>dullahan>zoma, a dark slime knight>bone baron>black dragon...I don't know, my head kind of explodes when I try to hash out the possibilities. Too much of a good thing perhaps.

I'm with you on this one. I've finished the game and I still can't put it down. I still have like 40 monsters to scout/synth/win, and I still have stuff to do in the Domus sewer.

There aren't going to be any new monsters on Infern, but if you go back to the beginning of the tower and whistle, you'll get about a 5 - 10% chance of fighting 2 liquid metal slimes (10,000 exp each). Definitely the best way I've found to level up. Actually, there's a guy on the Domus jetty that will take you right to the entrance of the Infern dungeon, so I just go back and forth from the Domus scout station to the Infern tower when I'm grinding and synthing.

My current rotation is :
Black Dragon
Alabast Dragon
Cluboon Ace

with subs of:
MumBoh-JumBoe
Malroth
Zoma

Not sure what I'm synthing next. Taking a little break while my wife confiscates the DS for PPL.

BTW, the wi-fi prize today is Leopold if anyone's feeling masochistic.

How many times can you do the tournament and get a prize every day? Like if i got the leopold today, and than, five mins later, i did wifi again, could i get a second leopold?

You can attempt the tournament as many times as you want, but you only get each prize once per day (7AM-11PM PST).

So you can only get one Leopold today. So far though, it looks like the prizes are on a 1 week rotation, with the best prizes and hardest tournaments on the weekend.

Which is pretty stupid, since I bet SE knows about the hacked teams, but probably doesn't really mind much about it.

Isn't the wifi server hosted at SE? They should at least be able to do something.

Of course they know, but what would they do? How would they find out?
You would be surprised how blatant it is. Take today for instance. You have to get through one team with 3 Incarni on it. You can obviously only create a team with more than one incarnus by hacking. Then there's a team with a Gem Slime that has 999 HP, which is impossible within the game, even with infinite leveling. Take the stat cap + ever possible sklii set, and you can't get near 999 HP on a Gem Slime. It can only be hacked. SE could easily have some very basic checks on the monster library and ban teams that aren't within the rules.

Let me just say this. If I programmed a game, I would certainly know which combinations of monsters with which stat limitations are possible. And the wifi would only allow teams that were possible within the game. SE must be capable of filtering out obvious hackers. Relying on the honesty of the anonymous gamer is never going to work.

People who hacked got stopped by a flag when trying to go online. Well that's what I've been seeing at places. I dunno if they did hack someway or something to bypass it or not.

geez i got mashed online, my lv10 team vs top5 team

but I got a free monster by connecting yay...

I did the same thing today. My guys were around lvl 10 as well and I got crushed! I was thinking they might have me go against a team that was close to mine...

You got a free monster?? I didn't get anything.

Yeah, that's what I've been doing for the last day or so. My team now is a black dragon, atlas and a zoma. I was able to complete my atlas' anti-metal skill to 100% and for a while we were getting a lot of metal king slimes, but now they went back to liquid metal slimes again. My dragon though can lob off about 35 dmg from any of the metal slimes, and my atlas can do about 30 with Metal Slash. So, farming metal slimes is now a breeze. I'll probably try to scout a couple of metal king slimes soon.

As an aside, I think you can technically get more than one Incarni if you trade with friends locally. But yeah, I'm sure most teams that are in the upper echelon of online are hacked like a mofo.

Well, I would suggest not being tethered to a walkthrough -- you'll probably have more fun discovering most stuff on your own. It's not a hard game, so you're likely not going to get stuck for long. Other than that I'd say it's probably best to allow monsters to level up to at least level 20 before synthesizing. This way your new monsters will come out strong, be able to grind against relatively strong monsters and level fast. You're probably best to not synth more than one at a time too, as far as your battle party is concerned anyway.

I'm having lots of fun with this game, if you need help with synthesising so you can stand a chance online you can get a small breeding FAQ here. What does your guys' team consist of?

Just pulled out a save from JP version
Killer machine lv 33 Warrior, Attack up SP, Attack up 3
Wight King lv 37 Courage, Attack up SP, HP up SP
Berial lv 40 Warrior, Attack up SP, Defense up 3

Never knew my team was this weak.. My killer machine is decent though...
549 hp, 235 mp, 893 atk, 602 def, 513 spd, 430 int
I think I'll restart on English version =P
