Hi guys - I have searched extensively for a solution as I like to try myself if I can but I now need help.
I followed EmperorOfCanadas excellent tutorial and successfully managed to complete it by downgrading my wii from 3.4e to 3.2e and installing the gamma backup launcher channel with the djtaz loader.
I have burnt an iso of Shaun White road trip to test it but now have hit a problem.
When I run the gamma channel it shows an exception error (DSI) and then dumps some code on screen and freezes. The only way out is to power off the wii and restart it.
I have tried running a couple of official games throught the gamma channel and they work fine so could this just be a burning issue?
Any help or pointers that you could give me would be very much appreciated!
Many thanks.

Thanks,
DLing Wii Music now to try again.
I have also reburned Shaun White and tried that again - although the exception error no longer appears the screen just goes black and freezes.
Will report back when I try Music.

Thanks for your help and suggestions guys - I will investigate further tomorrow.
Pleased to report that wii music has downloaded and booted/played successfully so it looks
like it was an issue with the .iso or the burning.
The info is much appreciated.

Just a quickie guys - I have downloaded neorames loader - do I need to uninstall the gamma backup channel first or will they happily coexist?
Thanks.

are you using haxchi, tiramisu or aroma?
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    yeah
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
no, I'm asking which one of them you are using
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
in that case, there is no such thing as homebrew launcher for aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
you have to launch your homebrews directly from the wii u menu
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
there is a plugin that display them on the wii u menu, pretty sure it is enabled by default
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    so like it doesnt exist
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    yeah
    ?
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
it doesn't exist, at least not for aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    ohhhhh
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
on tiramisu you can access it by opening mii maker
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    okay
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    nope
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    it is L+dpad down+ select
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
but homebrew is appearing in the home menu btw
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
    yes, now I remember it
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
then it is working, I also don't like that they did this but it is the only option you have if you are using aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
i just didint know the homebrew launcher didint exist in aroma
