Hardware Does the wiiu support external USB 3.0 hard drives?

If I plug it (hard disk external toshiba usb 3.0) into one of the USB ports, mine does not work. But turning to the internet I see a lot of people who can use it.
I state that mine is formatted in fat32 using a tool taken from the internet (windows did not format it in fat32...)
turning on the internet, I found https://en-americas-support.nintend...zVVllb2x6eW95ZTl3ayU3RVZQZmFURTRhWG1nJTIxJTIx but it does not say usb 2.0 or 3.0
So...

The Wii U does not output enough power through the USB ports for most external drives. Usually, you need to use the USB Y-cable so the harddrive can draw twice the power. These cable look something like this:

I happen to have two external 500Gb drives (I think they are WD branded) that by sheer luck work with only a single cable, no need to block both USB ports on the back.

My Wii U works with my Seagate Backup Plus 3tb USB 3.0 drive. But the drive has its own outlet for power because as stated the Wii U would not give it enough power.

Which hard disk do you use?

What port are you plugging it into? besides power it had to go into a specific port on the back. i forget if the top or bottom, but it's opposite of which one to use on the Wii. Then besides that you need the Y cable for power which you can plug into any of the others. Or better yet get a power supply for the drive.

USB 3 is supposed to be BC with USB 2 (OR EVEN 1) so I doubt it's any problem.
