Hi all,

I've currently got a DS Lite and am borrowing a friend's AceKard 2 as mine stopped working.

I'm getting a 3DS XL for Christmas and want to get a new flashcart.

I understand that you need to update the firmware on a DSTwo card before you update a 3DS XL. I'm a little confused where the older DS comes into play though - so if someone could explain that, I'd be really grateful.

Also, will the DSTwo card work on a DS Lite regardless of what firmware it's running? So when I get it running on the 3DS XL, will the DSTwo card still work to play DS roms on my DS Lite?

Hope this all makes sense!

DSTWO firmware does not matter when using on a DS or DS Lite.

People use the DS/Lite to update the DSTWO when they updated their 3DS first by mistake.

(Though, there is an alternative way to still update the DSTWO using the 3DS by renaming the update file to 'dstwoupdateb.dat' and leaving the DSTWO on the error message for around 5 minutes.)

Thanks for answering so quickly :) That's fab!

All I need to do now is find the best place to buy that will ship quickly to the UK with no problems!
