I use the pyramid type reader and it words fine. I hope you are kidding about the stolen part. If you are jokes like that don't translate well to print.

My wife and I both have R4's with the clear gray microSD readers ("two pyramids"), and they both perform amazingly well. I've tried readers from other flash carts, plus several store-bought ones and those ones built into PC's, printers, etc. The R4 reader is the fastest and most reliable of the bunch, and it has never overheated, not even if I do a full format followed by filling the 2GB card with roms. I have zero complaints with this reader.

Exactly the same situation for my partner and I

WOW! WOW! WOW!

theres this guy actualy talking about how he's going to buy a stolen DS and then this other guy talking about he also would like to buy a stolen DS because of the color (?!) in a public forum...
i didnt quote it to give you both the chance to edit your posts - and better yet: your retarded minds

but the worst part about this is that everyone else just ignores this and only talks about card-readers!
a truly retarded world we live inÂ

and just because i see this coming:
no its not the same to "backup" games from a big wealthy company and to steal a gameconsole from a kid

Uhh yeah, I don't see why it would matter to other people. It's not like it's offensive - don't forget why you're here. And I never said from whom/what/where it was stolen, and a question on morality is dependant on the person.

The blue one (1st gen?) killed a microSD of mine. I'm now using a $9 SanDisk MobileMate.

I also use the mobileMate. Pick a couple up off amazom a while ago for $5 each. Never used the used the included reader because of the original bad reviews. R4 could take them out and lower the price a $ or so.

I got one of the original clear blue ones, it's never given me a problem so far although it does occasionally fall apart when I pull it out of the usb slot!

I'm not here to force morality issues on strangers over the internet. Everyone here isn't necessarily here to use something that could be illegal on their DS or anything... but a lot of people are without others knowing. How about mp3s and the like? I'm sure that market is much worse. Just thought I'd throw in my two cents.

Anyway, the topic is about the bundled card readers for goodness sake... to which I will respond: I use mine regularly because I don't have another one... and this one works just fine. I have the black one that came with the newer bundles, and I haven't had any problems. I use two 1GB Kingston microSD cards (one for my slot-1 and slot-2).

well i just dont feel good to post on the same board as a thief - so i express my discomfort... thats what its all about - expressing ones thoughts!

i totally respect, that hes free to do what he wants - and if he chooses to talk about it in an open forum i can comment on it
but you know maybe i overreact since i keep thinking i'm talking with adults here - which _obviously_ is not always the case...
so i'll shut up now & i wont answer the question since this guy ended up on my ignore-list

have fun

^^^ Well, I feel a little depressed inside. First, he questioned my morality, then he naturally assumed I'm American, he also called me a thief, said I have a "retarded mind" he said i'm 'not' an adult, he said he won't answer my question, and he bluntly told me i'm on his ignore list? I seriously hope this is considered trolling my topic or flaming.

Anyways, thanks for the replies. I'm still a little iffy on using the MicroSD reader. Has anyone had it for a few months (and it's still going)?

My MicroSD reader (the translucent black on with the pyramids) was DOA. But luckily my laptop has a SD reader built-in, so I can just use that.

probably for a few dollars/pounds/euros/whatevercurrencyfloatsyourboat its worth buying a decent one even if the bundled one is passable. it's cheaper than having to replace your micro SD.

I got the silver card reader one. But it seems like it's too tight to fit in my microSD, so I use my own reader

Nobody had problems with the new bundled card reader from R4??
And, works Transcend or A-data Mirco SD cards good with R4?? (I know kingston japan is the best but I can choose out Transcend or A-data (1GB)

steal a gameconsole from a kid

How do you know it wasn't stolen from a shop - shoplifters often sell items stolen straight from the shop. I would have no qualms buying a ds for £40 from a grafter..

besides, Property is Theft.

I've never had a problem with the 2 pyramid black one, use it regularly.
