Oh wait that's right. My bad.

If your R4 is the older model with the spring removed, use a bit of tape to make a tab on the card so you can pull it out, and this will also help the contacts touch the pins of the R4 as well.

I have 4 X R4 and they all work reliably well. I have no problem what so ever. The new model with no spring works great. No complaints probably best card ever made so far when it comes to simplicity.

that and the M3 Simply lol

just recently the r4's spring has died and it wont eject but no biggie. Won't boot most of the time and will have to blow...and blow...and blow. Won't even work sometimes.

R4 does have its faults like the contact issue, being stuck at the loading screen..those seem to be the main ones rite now. I'm still researching on how to fix these problems.

I have another problem sometimes when I leave my NDS Lite alone for a hour or so and I open it back up it automatically goes in to a regular screen and I have to blow at the R4 for it to boot up.

i recommend the r4ds as 100% reliable , ive bought at least 15 for friends and family all have no problems at all .

ive always bought kingston micro sd memory 1 or 2 gig and used the latest firmware at the time .

ps. also bought numerous m3ds simply and had no probs with them either .

I only have one gripe about the R4.....2GB microSD limit.

If it had SDHC ability, it would be perfect, but it doesn't, so it's not.

I will likely buy an SDHC R4 if they ever make one available.

The only "problem" I have with my old-style R4 (white shell) is the spring (surprise, surprise). It has a weak locking mechanism and I have to push the microSD in slowly for it to lock into place. If I push too far, it just pops back out. Sometimes, I can squeeze the casing a little so the lock works better. So far, that has continued to work for me. Removal of the spring will occur if it becomes a serious problem.

Otherwise, I consider my R4 just as important as the DS itself.

How long have you had the R4?

I've had my R4 ever since February or so, and it has never given me any problems (spring breaking, etc.) and its part of the first batch.

@tsimehC
the oldest r4ds i have is about 6 months old and has the old spring mechanism for the sd memory card , no probs with it at all , spring does feel weak but hasnt broke as yet !

Some R4s have their springs break and some don't; it just depends on the quality of the batch. Like mine broke and I barely touched it, and my friend always takes his in and out of the R4, and his spring works like a charm. Just depends.
