So, I got myself a Samsung Q50 QLED TV for this last Black Friday with some very snazzy discounts (and it was on Rollback, too!), and decided to play my Mariko Switch last night, and have come across a strange problem: the damn thing keeps flickering. I first noticed it when I went into the eShop to see what all I've been missing out on lately, and there was no pattern to it; it happened more often with the Switch while in the eShop, sure, but it didn't start fucking up anywhere else until I played some Hyrule Warriors (is it just me, or is this game not as fun as Fire Emblem Warriors?), and it did the same thing. Sure, it didn't happen as often, but unless I can fix it up, I might have to trade in my current full-on Mariko Switch and get a Switch Lite with a battery pack, something I've been considering doing lately due to it seeming like it is "smaller," and the fact that I barely play anything with anyone locally these days multiplayer, so why not?

Still, I'd rather have it not be my TV that ends up forcing my hand as opposed to the decision to trade one in for the other, you know? Has anyone else experienced this and managed to find a solution?

EDIT FOR THE MODS: This is a general Switch issue, not an issue with L4T-Ubuntu or Android (if that even works with the dock), so I don't know why this is in the Exploit part of the Switch forums? I'm pretty sure I remember putting it into the Console part of the Switch forums here. ;/

So, I think I may have resolved the issue: you have to turn the Game Mode off, something I don't remember switching on for the Switch channel on my TV, in addition to playing around with the power state settings on both the Switch and the display.

Keyword being, I think it's taken care of. I'll probably know more when I feel like playing something on my Switch one of these days.

Back to putting together what will probably be the last custom MUGEN roster I ever make...(couldn't someone with Ghidra possibly decompile the .exe or something and get the source code so this thing can be properly open-sourced as opposed to depending on IKEMEN?)

Is it a constant rapid flickering, like happens with fluorescent light bulbs sometimes? If so, it sounds related to black frame insertion. Look around in the settings or google for how to turn it off. Game Mode should be left on, because input latency is really bad without it.
The Q50 doesn't exactly score very well when it comes to black frame insertion. https://www.rtings.com/tv/tests/motion/image-flicker

No, the screen would just go black for a second or two and then come back on, and after changing the Power State settings on the Switch and a similar setting on the TV, it would still do that, but it kept saying that Game Mode was on until I turned it off for the Switch input on my TV as it's not gonna be running League of Legends or CSGO anytime soon. XD It seemed to happen a lot while in the eShop, which is where I was testing all of this weirdness.

Try another HDMI cable.

Dude, I managed to fix it!...at least, I think I did. The display on the TV didn't fuck up at all for yours truly after browsing around in the eShop for the past 5-ish minutes!

Though, to be fair, I did consider unplugging all of my HDMI cables from my TV as there was an unexpected power outage in the middle of last week for no reason. Unfortunately, where I live, the power grid can sometimes shit itself and then we get random, unexplainable outages like that, and I do remember reading that's what someone experienced with another Samsung TV with their Switch on another forum.

And bc most of the family guy budget is spent on the voice actors rather than on the animation
