I don't pre-order consoles but I'll get a Switch 2 at some point when a hack is discovered and when more games drop. And by that point, I'll likely buy the games from second-hand markets like eBay.

So for now, my Jailbroken Switch 1 and Steam Deck will do.
It's the first time I pre ordered a console, but I'm very interested on the Switch 1 OLED model for its better screen.

I'm gonna wait until they release Switch 2 exclusive game I have to have, my fomo levels are too low now. Maybe I get lucky and there will be a special edition or something when time comes.

I'm 50% sour. Even though I'm excited about getting the Switch 2, I'm still actively boycotting Game Key Cards which means I won't be buying many third party games.
Well, Nintendo gave them a choice, so I'm definitely blaming those publishers rather than Nintendo. If Marvelous (Guardians of Azuma, Story of Seasons, Daemon X Machina) and CD Project can release their games full on cartridge, so could the others, especially Square Enix that does not lack funds.

Edit: Typo

Metroid? If it was DK you'd pre-order as that's coming out next month.

DK Bonanza looks like Super Mario Odyssey 2: Donkey Kong's Adventure.

No, and I don't anticipate ever getting one unless Nintendo is humbled again. If they find success with their late-stage capitalism premium pricing strategy, they're guaranteed to never get any money from me again and I'll only be playing their games years later on emulators.

Metroid Prime 4 will also be on Switch 1.

Yes, but the framerate will likely be better or a lot better on NS2. And the graphics, too.

The Switch is still a great console and I'm having second thoughts if I really want to own a Switch 2 when I've bought a cheap Switch 1 and will play NS1 games (which I planned on doing on the NS2). Hmm.

Yes, it will run better, but $500 after tax plus $10 Switch 2 tax better? No. It was designed as a Switch 1 game and the footage so far looks like it runs fine: .

And that's not even considering that emulators might be able to run it similarly to the Switch 2 version. I'll be playing it on original hardware, though.

Not when vast majority will be digital.......and why everyone is having an uproar about that.

Am I the only one who finds it funny that more than 1/3 of the people who answered are actually pre-ordering, despite how vocal many on here are about how much they hate Nintendo? At this rate, I expect half the people who "aren't" buying the system will change their mind at some point, even if it's only for hacking reasons.

But yeah, I pre-ordered. I still want my "Switch Pro", and my current joy-cons are barely hanging in there, with my "A" button not registering 10% of the time, and the drift being excruciatingly real.

I looked at the launch lineup and I think I'll just wait until Donkey Kong Bananza releases next month. I need both a solid single player and multi player game to get some decent use out of the console and hold me over until more games release. Mario Kart World alone isn't enough.

I bought one for two reasons:

1. I've been pretty bored with the current state of the industry, I miss innovation, we used to have new artstyles, new mechanics or new ways to control games almost every year. I don't think the Switch 2 will be revolucionary or anything close to that, but I'm jumping at any chance of playng something new for a change.

I highly doubt it will happen, but I would love for the Switch 2's Joycons to be popular enough to make an impact on PC, so that gaming mice start coming with gyro and haptic feedback as well and that it becomes widely adopted, so more games could be designed around them.

2. I have a significant collection of Switch 1 games, and many of them run poorly or could run much better. I've been waiting for years for a Switch Pro to play some games, Age of Calamity for example.

Yes, I could emulate, but my free time is short, if I were to play something on the PC I would prefer to invest my time in native games on Steam that run without stutter, graphic glitches or input lag and that I've already bought and haven't had time to play.

The advantage of having these games on the Switch is precisely that I can play away from the PC, anywhere, so I can rest my head after spending the whole day working in front of it.

I've been thinking about securing a switch 2 to keep it on a low FW and forget about it until something happens. Then I realized that there aren't that many switch 2 games that I'm looking forward to.

I had second thoughts about keeping it, but I'm really happy. It's pretty much the Switch Pro I always wanted.

The screen looks really nice too even though it's not OLED.
