Hacking Do NOT Buy Radioshack Micro SD Cards

I bought a 4gb micro sd card from radioshack because my 2gb Kingston just wasn't enough memory.

It's terrible, do not buy it if you were thinking about it. I learned the hard way.

Slowdowns in a lot of games that shouldn't be slowing down. Graphical glitches (random horizontal lines running through the screen). If you try and play emulators with it think again, because those will move abnormally slow as well. Even navagating through the menus in AKAIO is slower than usual. None of those problems occur with my 2gb Kingston so I know it's not my DS or AK2i's fault.

Just don't buy it, it's terrible.

My friend recentely also bought a Sandisk 4GB Class 2 from Radioshack. And it lags in some games for him and even freezes he is using R4iRTS.

I just bought a cheap ass PNY Class 4 8GB from Newegg for $15 shipped and it's been my favorite Micro SD yet.

I've never bought one from Radioshack and probably never will, though.

It's probably a lower class, as Class 2's are possibly the worst sort of Micros you can use for emulation.

Radio Shack used to be one of my favorite hangouts, back in the day when they actually staffed people who knew what a freakin' diode was. Nowadays the staff is trained to sell cellphone contracts. Sad really.

it wouldnt matter since class is about write speed

its having a lot of problem reading though
radioshack probably bought some cheap knock off's from HK and put their logo on it

yep, thats how aging works alright.

It is very possible that the radioshack cards just suck. I once bought a mouse from there that stopped working after 2 weeks of use... but format your cards with the Panasonic SD Formatter and see if your issues go away.

formatting it with that helped a little bit, but the problems are still there.
