no it's not necessary to play phantom hourglass before hand. i have the actual phantom hourglass cartridge & i've yet to beat it

phantom hourglass & spirit tracks is a series imo, like oracle of ages & oracle of seasons. it would be seen that way more often if both games were released on the same date

No. in fact i highly recommend you dont play PH before ST because then you wont see how bad ST is in comparison lol PH = awesome game

[Edit] I would surgest you play Phantasy star zero before playing spirit tracks tho...

I also have the actual cartridge of phantom hourglass (last game i bought before i started flashcarts) and I have a $20 guide for it (it looks awesome) and STILL i have to finish it 100%
