Hacking Do I need to install RedNand?

I am unsure which CFW to install to play Mario Kart 8 with DLCs installed via WUP Installer. I googled that I can load sig patches with Haxchi and that should let me play the game without a problem. But I am unsure of which path to take: should I go with RedNand or just use Haxchi with the patches? Only reason I ask this is because I thought that I needed to install RedNand in order to play games with DLCs.

Side Note: I do have a big enough SD card to install RedNand, and I also have a virtual DS game that should let me install Haxchi.

You don't need to install rednand unless your worried you might brick (you won't installing mk8 dlc).
You can just use haxchi's sig patches and that should be enough.

You definitely do not need redNAND. Using Haxchi or Mocha without redNAND will suffice.

I use rednand because I don't want fake tiks on my sysnand
