It should work.

It didn't work if i have the files in the separate places .... apparently you need to put everything in the same file.

dlc worked using iosuhax?

I always thought that Rednand was required to run DLCs...

EDIT.: I just saw all the other replies and confirmed that DLC work just fine without rednand using iosuhax... ok.
Anyone can link me iosuhax stuff? I am a little away from this stuff, brazilian hack took my time and attention for a while.

PM me and I might be able to help

Thanks! Its pretty late now where I live. Gonna send you a pm when I wake up

I would not mix a game with an update or DLC that belongs to a different region, since the title IDs won't match, it likely won't work anyway
Updates did work but the game & update have to be the same region(tested it with 3 EUR games). However I decided not to try DLC.

So DLC games to the USB and the others to the memory ... ok I got you .... this is way easier and faster than going to RedNAND.

Can I have it like this: ?

MK 8 + Updates in the WiiU.
MK8 DLC in the USB

Thanks !
No, don't do that!
Either have everything on your HDD or on the NAND, if you separate them you risk your save files to disappear!
If you plan on installing DLC for a game then first copy/move your stuff(game+saves+update) to your HDD THEN install DLC to your HDD.

Just tried with Mighty switch force, on USB from sysNAND: worked successfully!

To make it clear for anyone confused (supposed you're on the wiiu menu and you have the CFW Booter homebrew on your SD Card):
1) put fw.img (any should do it, but be careful where you find it) to the root of the sd card
2) Launch Internet Browser then Homebrew Launcher (on loadiine.ovh)
3) Load CFW Booter, the screen will become red with "Welcome to redNAND" then "Initializing" written on it, don't worry, it's gonna launch that fw.img file
3a) Wait like 10 seconds, the wiiu will reboot to the menu.
4) Launch Internet Browser and the Homebrew Launcher again
5) Now Load "WupInstaller Mod y"
6) Press X to install your Eshop game/DLC on your USB or external HDD
6a) If it worked, you should see the install is in progress
7) Once done successfully, press home, you're gonna be redirected to Mii Maker: press Home then WiiU Menu
8) ????????
9) Profit !!

I know my english isn't that good for tutorials, but that's how i proceeded accorded to what Kohmei said, just wanted to make it easier and clearer for you all, i hope it is now~

PS: The game/dlc will probably no longer work once you shutdown the console, if so:
Repeat the steps 2 and 3 then lunch your game/dlc from wiiu menu. Simply easy.
PPS: Once you did steps above, as long you keep your wiiu on, you can just repeat steps 4 to 7 for each content you want to install separately.

This is so awesome!
For step 6: Can internel memory be used, or rather not?

You said Wii, yes that's for sure, but in Wii U mode VC lol.
Also DLCs, I'm still a bit scared LOOOL.
No. I installed the wii vc you download from the wii u eshop.
I also installed dlc.
This is just as safe as the Brazilian. Nothing to worry about.

too late hahaha anyway I don't have any saves so is fine ...

Ok some questions :
I have a 500gb HDD full of brazilian games. If i want to put some eshop, wii VC,... i will need some more space.
To do so :
1.
- i put my 500gb HDD in back USB with Y power
- then i plug a new HDD (let say 1tb) in the front USB port, it will ask to format, OK
- I go to management and transfer everything from 500gb to new 1Tb and it will take 20 hours or so...
Is that ok ?
2. Everytime i want eshop vcWii on my USB HDD to show on my wiiU i have to launch HL /CFWBooter ?
3. Do i need to exit to MiiMaker/HomeMenu after each install ? Or can i install more than 1 game in WUP ?
4. I made my fw.img from dimok with this tuto : https://gbatemp.net/threads/building-iosuhax-on-windows.447023/
With md5checksum i got : 78E9F89824EF506F4CA1BDC4B155F281
The fw.img i get from that iso site is : B0617E31F41F07B5EC9B948838E8C71D
So which one is correct ?

1 - ok

2 - yes

3 - You can. Search for the updated version on the brazilian method in gbatemp.

4 - Don't know the answer. I just have fw.img from that iso site anyway.
