Ik it's a stereotype about autistic people, and I like trains too but idk if it's a coincidence
I've been to a few special-ed schools throughout my whole life, there are some people that I know of who like trains. Must be a hyper focused interest thing, kinda like how I'm interested more into computers.

Who doesn't like trains?

Okay but seriously, so many things about trains can appeal to autistic people: routine, structure, familiarity, reliability, predictability, the daily ritual. The sight and sound of train operation could be stimulating. There's a huge amount of well ordered information related to trains: timetables, railway lines, maps, types of trains, locomotives, stats, configurations, inner workings, history of trains, etc. And model trains are a whole new world in and of itself.

So many things to enjoy about trains for so many reasons.

I'm ambivalent to trains themselves but god do I love being on a train. It's smooth, follows a set route, and makes me feel relaxed. I can phase out and just travel while I stare out at all the scenery going past. I used to love travelling on the train when I first went to university and would go home every few weeks.

I love trains but i'm not a spotter as some call it. I can't help but have a liking for British diesel loco's like this Class 55 Deltic and their some of their Track Treatment stock or wanting to see inside one of their New Measurement Trains.

Not a fan, I like taking the car where I want vs. a set path through many more smallsvilles with one ranch each
