twisted words where ur construed context isnt really any dilemma . the topic at hand is not removing something from gaming forum that is off topic. thats breaking valid rules.

what the topic is that people are on a political forum page and arent happy with other peoples opposing views on the political forum page. these people are complaining and wanting global changes to the forum rules and how they are enforced because their little sideshow political forum page has dissenters that they cant handle hiding them or just not getting involved in the politics forum page if they cant handle freedom of speech on political topics.

gbatemp is awesome dont let the times and politics forum page change this website. all these people in the world want to change everything because politics is in a state of chaos are apart of the virus imo. leave gbatemps gaming rules and system alone. it works fine on the gaming topics and things it was designed for.

That couldn't be any further from the truth. Fascists have no interest in friendly discussion or debating in good faith. It's an ideology centered entirely around violence. The second you call them out for lacking any real morals and values, they threaten assault or murder. If that's the type of thing you find intellectually stimulating, you can find plenty of it on Twitter or Facebook. No need to ruin this site with it too.

Sadly it is what it is. In the current political landscape, what constitutes "reality" itself cannot be agreed upon. No matter what the site's rules are, one camp is going to accuse moderators of favoring another.

I'm not above trading blows or calling it like I see it, but I try not to start shit out of nothing. It's only ideologies which rely on the dehumanization of others that I have zero tolerance for. Unfortunate that one of those ideologies is becoming more and more mainstream in recent years, but that's all the more reason to loudly resist, I won't become complicit with silence.

point to me one place on gbatemp where someone has threatened assault or murder. i dont look at the political forums but that is not only against the forum rules already but its also against the law in most countries. it may happen on twitter and facebook but if someone did that here i am confident the moderators already have that type of stuff covered. so there is again no need to change moderation here imo. thats hyperbole speak

i dont envy you but find it funny that people cry to moderators so much. those are the people that shouldnt even be speaking on political forums imo. if they cant handle what they are reading and respond to it they dont have the emotional stability to even chat politics.

its the definition of insanity imo expecting weak minded emotional people not to get emotional and cry like babies.

im not pickign a side left or right. the extremes on both sides are crazy. moderators have there work cut out for them and i wouldnt want to be a moderator because i wouldnt put up with the whiners and there crying.

thats why the rules should be simple. no one is going to change history or individuals perception by censoring and moderating out ideologies. if anything id say thats what fueled both sides to getting as crazy as they did.

ive been apart of the internet since the bbs days when social media was actually fun. they BBS shut down and had to change the rules and moderatoes because a 40+ year old man wanted to kill me because as a child i thought it was wierd that this guy lived in his parents basement talking with kids on a local BBS.

people can be enraged by the littliest of things when the pond is small and you can be touched. the pond is getting smaller with technology and sadly stuff that used to not phase people in AOL chat rooms or lots of other forums for years now all of a sudden has become so triggering to people that they think they are going to change the world.

There is one particularly nutty person in the politics, who literally said something along the lines of
"We will never give up power to likes of you, even if it means bloodshed"
I am paraphrasing that last half a little, since I am unable to recall the exact wording, but I know just about everything up to the comma is correct, and the word "bloodshed" was absolutely used, and that yes, killing the political opposition was a little more than implied.

And for additional context, I was suggesting that the GOP actually does have power to end the shutdown. They can just end the filler-buster. This was prior to dems once again snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

I get annoyed when political stuff spills over into the gaming section. But, if you don't like the political shit, stay out of the political section.

The only time I've ever messaged a mod, was when I got some bs warning like a decade ago, which I didn't deserve. I got 0 response back from the mod who gave it to me. Oh, and also to warn one that they got doxxed.
