check you PM or pick my face..!!

installed just fine, though, I'm pretty sure that's what I already had

anyway, games still don't load

I'm downloading cios downgrader right now to upgrade to 3.2

I don't understand wtf is going on with this...

upgraded to 3.2u, nothing changed
Softchip r75 is doing the exact same thing

this is the log
Code:
[02/00 22:32:50] ---------------------
[02/00 22:32:50] Loading Disc...
[02/00 22:32:56] Disc ID: RL8E
[02/00 22:32:56] Disc Title: MLB Power Pros
[02/00 22:32:57] IOS requested by the game: 33

all the games do the same thing
they start loading, show a 'now loading screen' then give a message "Disc could not be read, refer to Wii manual" or something like that

when I push eject, it asks me to put 'that' game back in
Code:
Please insert Mortal Kombat Armageddon disc

you know what?? I had this same issue, they all load but after the safety screen they all DRE and ejecting the disc cause the Wii says that same thing, but it turns out to be the DVD's I was using where not good, check with ImgBurn their Disc ID:

here my results:
Code:
ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ WORKS?

Made in India: Verbatim
Disc ID: MBIPG101-R05-01**************NO

I could say that if it ends on "0" it'll work and in "1" wont work, but I haven tested any other than those...!!

its so obvious what the problem is. If you are going to burn on +R make sure you burner can change the booktype to DVD-ROM. or use DVD-R

what is much much more important than the quality of the media is the burner
I have a Sammy SH-S203N and when I burned these, used SB02 fw
for everyone elses peace of mind, I could run a disc scan but I'm telling you it isn't the discs
I burned all 11 discs from the same spindle and tried one game 3 times (MK Armageddon) all of the problematic games do the exact same thing

if it were a media quality problem, then I would get inconsistent results (I have experience with this)
I have frequented CDFreaks for like 5 or 6 yrs now

instead, I am getting consistent results, every problematic game has the error in the same place, consistent with each other and the non-problematic games do not crash (consistently anyway)

WTF? google didn't help me with this one...

Well the only things that comes to my mind is the burning speed, your problem is a DRE issue, so is either the media/writter/cIOS/speed and if using the same DVD's and writter you have some of them working, I'll say is the speed, you know MarioKart ran well if I didn't push the A on the safety screen, cause I use a Memorex and burn it at 16X, but then I burn it at 8X and that worked like a charm, no DRE's since then, are you sure you are BookTyping the DVD's as DVD-ROM?? (if they are DVD+R, of course)

Your not the first to run into this issue and you wont be the last - well done on finally getting there.

Most people reject the media as being a problem cause their PC can read the discs , but the wii is a totally different animal when it comes to reading discs and its a lot more sensative.

I like what ether posted with the 0 and 1 - i think more people should take a closer look at this and we'll see if we can narrow this down as being the cause of the problem - at least we can check faster for others if this is the case , and well done ether if its correct !

my problem was firmware
there are three versions for my model SB00, 01, and 02
A while back, I had burned some of these discs with SB01 fw and got good results.Later, I flash to a patched SB02 and got great results with DL media (for the 360) that patched SB02 gave me some horrible SL disc scans
Tonight, I reverted back to a patched SB01 and even burning at 18x, so far so good

I'm almost certain those numbers cannot be used in that way
AFAI understand, they mean nothing more than version numbers for each manufacturer
Also, some manufacturers fake the media ID
my current media is RICOHJPN-R03-04
these have mixed results from what I researched @ cdfreaks
random peoples showed great results with this burner and this media but only with certain FW, SB01 being one of them
