Hardware Disc Drive Question

Hey all, had some confusion and figured you guys were my best bet to get some answers.
So at the moment I have an RVL-001 with a DMS drive that's due to fail any second now. I'm looking to replace it and I found a drive on eBay for dirt cheap, but it's a D2A drive. My question is, would this drive work in my Wii? I don't care about being able to read burned disks or using a modchip.

Sadly no.
But some drives/types (look at Amazon) can use in ALL Wii´s.

Alternatively, you could use a USB loader.
