Hi everyone. I need help replacing the laser on my Xbox One S.

Most of my Xbox One discs either stop installing at “4.00 KB,” fail with a “network error,” or show “disc dirty/damaged,” even though the discs have little-to-no scratches and no signs of disc rot. I suspect the laser might be weak or failing. The only disc that works is an Xbox 360 game — likely because it only verifies the disc before downloading.

My question is: is the HOP‑B150 laser assembly compatible with the Xbox One S Blu‑ray drive? I want to confirm compatibility before purchasing. I’ve searched online but couldn’t find a definitive answer, so I want to be sure before buying. Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated.

The laser itself is the same, not sure about the frame or the motor. One S introduced UHD playback capabilities, maybe it needs a motor upgrade to spin the disc faster in CLV mode, maybe the motor is the same, just upgraded the DSP chip on the PCB. Never had an OG One so I can't tell for sure.

You can buy it and try it on, if it doesn't work, extract just the laser to swap on for a test.
