My theory is that the new "3DS Lite" will just be the same 3DS, but w/ much more battery life. After all, they already said that the 3DS won't be shrunk any more.
Yeah, but they've never done anything like you're theorizing (not that I'll discount it).
Do not see what this got to do with the thread, but

Most likely it be 3DS Xl with better battery life. :/

Iwata-sama is secretly working on "Blind Guide", audio descriptions for in-game action.

Not really, but you can't rule anything out.

Probably not by much though.

Considering that bigger screen = more power.

Plus more power because of the 3D screen. The top screen is the reason why the 3DS battery is so poor.

And that also means more pricey...

Why would the top screen be taking such a lot of power? I thought it was a conventional TFT screen with a Parallax Barrier LCD switching overlay on top of it, how exactly does that take much more power than a standard screen?

I would have thought that the new additional 3D chips are taking the power? Also there are now "4" CPU's on one die ... ARM7TDMI, ARM946E-S, ARM11 x 2 ... and increase in clock speed of the ARM.

Cheers,

Alistair G.

The top screen uses double the amount of light in 3D compared to 2D, it's like one screen for each eye. This was mentioned in a Iwata asks interview.
Rendering two images in 3D is not what consumes more power, remember that the left and right images are just different views of the same models.
