Hi, Im experiencing a Problem with Direct X. It wont let me install, and just gives me an error message. When I go to DX Diag, it doesnt give me a direct x version number, but instead tells me that it is not found. Here is a couple of short videos I have made to show my Problems with Direct X:

My Graphics Adapter is a Volari V5 (Discontinued) With what I think is the latest Drivers. If someone can find me the latest latest drivers that are confirmed to be the latest, i would very much appreciate it. On the Box it says that this Card is Compatible with Direct X Up to Version 9. (I still have the box, CD, and Manual contents.)
Heres a Page on this Card: http://reviews.cnet.com/graphics-cards/xgi...7-31930021.html
    What the Card looks like:

Since you didn't post a link to the error log file. My guess would be that you disabled some services that are required for installing.

It says where the log files are in the error message, in your windows folder. It is shown clear as mud in the last video. Seriously, you circled it in the last video and you didn't read it.

DXError.log and DirectX.log are in your windows folder. You could have used the search.

I went out today and since my motherboard only supports AGP cards, I picked up a NVIDIA PNY GEFORCE 6200 [AGP] Graphics card with Direct x 9 and Shader 3.0 Support. Gonna Swap out and install Graphics cards now and see if the problem continues. Ill post when its done.

    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DirectX

    That is the registry path.

I am still receiving this error... is there a way to downgrade Direct X then Update? I try the 9.c update, and it says click next to continue. This time, instead of giving me an error, it jumps straight to finished. Downloading from Microsoft's Website gave me the log error in the video. I still have the 'Not Found' Error.

I found Direct X under software, and found only the 'default' under Direct X. Heres what it says:
    (Default) Type: REG_SZ Data: (none)
There is no value/string for 'Default'

You will probably want to download the DirectX 9.0c first, install it then install the latest redist of DirectX update that you previously downloaded.

If your still getting an error trying to install the 9.0c, you got required services disabled.

    my thoughts are
    - either the registry is broken: can't find path or get the correct values when "updating"
    - +1 for howdoidothat, might need to install an older directx b4hand
    - you don't have administrative rights which blocks the setup[happens even if u're the only one using it]

Minimum requirements call for a 7800 GT. Even if you managed to get this directx stuff figured out it still wouldn't work. Maybe the newer versions of directx use functions those cards are too old to support, and that's why it won't install properly.
