The updated files in the google page definitely helped make DIOS-MIOS work. I was pulling my hair the day it was released because I could load Wii games using Uneek+Di but whatever I did the gamecube games black-screened. Now after 1 try with the new elf file, I was able to try 3 games (will try more later because it was late already). When I load the game there is about 5 seconds of green stuff on the screen before it boots the game (at first i thought it reset my wii because I got Starfox's "Health Screen". I said WTF I failed again, only to read the contents of the screen and it was not asking me to press "A". I immediately plugged my GC controller on the first port and was impressed to say the least).

Starfox Assault (of course had to test this first so that I know my setup is working) - Choppy Videos and the usual lags and breaking graphics during FMV, bad sound but overall it is ok

WWE Day of Reckoning 2 - Hangs at the first Now Loading screen.

WWE Day of Reckoning - Bad Sound, the usual choppy and laggy videos but it was "playable" up to the wrestler's entrances. When it loads the match, it freezes and no more hdd activity after that (Funny this is where it freezes in Dolphin too).

I have to say kudos to Crediar. Seeing it run a few games really made my day (even if it was late). Far from perfect (or even playable) but an effort worthy of praise indeed. Here's hoping that the seeds have been planted and that someone else improves it. If not, time to wait for SD-Boot to dust of my SD-Gecko.

With any luck, this can be used to help finish SD-Boot 1.0 and in return SD-Boot 1.0 source code can be used to make this work better. I am sure emu_kidid is looking into it.

Maybe, but then there wouldn't be NeoGamma on screen. There's nothing actually NeoGamma related in the cMIOS i recommend to use.
Since he said NeoGamma 0.2, I figured it'd be just Gamma and not NeoGamma.
wink.gif

Also no chance.
yes sorry my mistake it comes up with WIIgator 0.2 please insert disc.
Still doesnt explain why it comes up though fresh v10mios with dios-mios .app

Did you add the bit of code to SNEEK that tells it to load MIOS when BC is launched?

So far i have tested 15 games and most of then make it to the title screen then freeze, i had some small progress with Super Paper Mario but it freezes at different points, all most games say my gamecube memory card is corrupt :/ Also a quick question which is probably dumb but can SNEEK be run using the real nand, i know it would be called SNEEK anymore as its not emulating the NAND but is it possible to have the features of SNEEK but on the actual NAND? Stupid question i know but i just want to know if its possible.

short answer no. long answer maybe but probably not. it would require someone writing a true custom firmware. maybe not impossible but highly unlikely. that's actually two short answers. sorry.

Kinda like how GC USB loading was impossible and now we have this shining glimpse of light
biggrin.gif

So in short its possible but not in the near future. Well it couldn't hurt to ask, i was just curious thats all

yup. just like wii game usb loading was impossible too, and then bang there it was. it could happen but someone would have to spend quite a bit of time doing it. i don't see much of a point of anyone spending that kind of time working on something like that when sneek/uneek already works pretty well. just my two cents.

I was just thinking of a simplified way that's all as many people have problems with S(U)NEEK

So has anyone had anymore progress or reports with DIOS MIOS ( for some reason i keep saying mios dios i think it just rolls off the tongue better, lol )

Ugh, this is lame, but I found out why I was having trouble. ModMii "virgin" NANDs are lacking BC, which is necessary for GameCube launching; if you're on a ModMii NAND and getting nothing but blackscreens--literally nothing, no green screen either--you may need to grab a BC version using DOP-Mii on the Wii, or NUS Downloader on PC (pack WAD, install with ShowMiiWads, etc.).

This fixed me up as well. If you can get as far as loading a gamecube game in sneek, and selecting it gives you a black screen, then this will likely fix your problem.

It's good to finally see this released, but just to be safe... I think I'll wait until it's more stable, as it's early days as yet.

Did anybody consider that having a gamecube retail game disc in the drive could have an impact on the compatiblity? Even if Crediar patched disc-in-drive-checks, who says his patches work for all games?

I only will test DIOS MIOS if it has an easy way of installing it just like installing cIOS: select stuff and wait for the install and try it on a special loader with the settings menu as neogamma

I Hope something like that will get here soon =3

EDIT: I would like to do it myself but I can't code stuff llike that

How about this?

Use dolphin to profile the games, on dolphin you can intercepts games access to dvd drive's registers on memory... Use these profiles under dios mios to do live patching with a hook..

I know it aint so simple, yet an idea...

if you look at the code you can see that it's not using simple pattern search&replace but is directly checking the asm code and replacing it, sure nothing is perfect but it is pretty solid!

It seems I have to remind you what crediar said why most games do not work, it's because of the DSP/ARAM stuff and until that is fixed most games just won't work.

and btw crediar said dios mios doesn't even require the drive at all. (he removed his because it's so noisey)

Well I based my remark on someone elses (possibly Sorg) comment that current approach's inability to patch all dvd read calls... so you say it indeed patches all dvd read calls, even code loaded after game's main dol has been executed?

as he said himself "... I didn't study code. ..." you shouldn't relay on everything he said.
He seems to be anti-crediar(just look at other posts)

for example he says "I'm not sure why it also patches audio and mem-cards access - i didn't study code (and actually don't want with such hacky and bugy way), but it doesn't matter here. "

But he can obviously make tons comments about how dios mios patching works?
Crediar doesn't patch anything memcard related at all and the only audio part he patches is "AIResetStreamSampleCount" what could that be I wonder? probably a fix for streaming games to prevent crashing!

People should only listen to/ask crediar on how DIOS MIOS works ...
