Yeah, it can run the disks but you need a compatible loader. The Disk Channel doesn't work yet.
Do you know how I can cleanly remove DMV v1.3?

Simply deinstalling the wad does not work as the WAD Manager fails with an error.

I then reinstalled my previous r43 and - guess what - now the Ocarina Master Quest runs.

Very strange. But nonetheless I'd like to know what I need to do to get rid of DML.

The Wii just sees DML as a MIOS so installing any clean MIOS or cMIOS (or DML r43 in your case) will completely overwrite it.

The data was replaced when you installed r43, there shouldn't be any lingering data from DML 1.3
 
Otenis,I have exactly the same problem.Actually,not only PAL SoA is no longer working but also PAL BG&E,PoP WW.
Also,when I patch PAL Mario Sunshine and WarioWorld to run in PAL 480p,the screen is not displayed in the center anymore...Has anyone found a solution?

The only thing I can suggest is using NTSC SoA which works perfectly even in 480P mode. I am not sure if there is a way to convert the save over, with the Dreamcast version it was fairly easy to do by renaming the save to have the right game ID.
 
@[member='nl255'],I ripped my original PAL game and I hesitate to download illegally the ntsc one.I really hope that someone takes note for the broken compatibility issues...

theoretically changing the name of the save should work, it worked fine for me when converting Virtua Striker 2002 NTSC to PAL!

That could work with some games but others might have extra information saved which might make them not compatible. (If it actually SAVES the language settings, for instance, on PAL which might not be present in the NTSC version.) I'd say there's no harm in trying, though.

Or if one of the regions had some changes/extras in the game, yes, that's why I said "Theoretically" and not "definitely"!

Does it run disks though? :O I'm using USB Loader GX R1156 and NeoGamma R9 beta 56 and they work fine with DML, just loading original GC disks is the issue!

You can try the latest CFG USB Loader (mod r31 or r31 beta).
I can use them to load my original GC disks. (DML v1.3)

As promised I tested the latest CFG USB Loader and I can confirm it runs original GC disks fine, and I was wrong about burned games because even though it loads the game title just fine it hangs on the GCLoader screen trying to find the main .dol, for the time being I'll keep it for running original GC disks in case I needed to until a new DML version comes with a fix, otherwise I'll stick with USB Loader GX R1156 and NeoGamma!
 
I consider the inability to launch GC retail discs from Disc Channel a HUGE step backwards for DML.I wonder how the developers decided something like this.Until rev58 everything was working fine (aside some compatibility issues) and suddenly they decided to force to us an ugly and slow loader and to remove the ability to play GC games from the Channel.
Words can not speak justice of my dissapointment! :(

no one is forcing anything on anyone.. it's a choice, use dml or don't. i don't think Crediar/Godlike showed up to your hut, an put a stick to your head or anyones's for that matter, an said "you better use this or we will go cave man on your ass." as far as it being slow an ugly. this is a work in progress, every thing is not going to be 24k gold. an perfect.
an i think the reason why 1.3 isn't loading from disk channel, is because all the nintendo code was removed. but not sure cause i'm no were near the level of coding as these two (Crediar/Godlike). so if you want to load your disc from disc chane. don't use dml.

I don't agree,
I think DM should complement your console's functions, not cripple it in ANY way.

Before the release of 1.0-1.3 Disc Channel was working,so it is possible to use DML without using an unnecessary Loader and compromising one of the most important functions of Wii console.I just can not understand the logic of such a decision.Also,the compatibility list has taken a hit (Animal Crossing,BG&E,PoP WW,SoAL)-at least for the PAL games.

I am just questioning why these decisions are considered as progress (having in mind the previous version of DML as r58) and not a step backwards.

I have no intention to offend anyone,I am really grateful for this HUGE accomplishment in Wii's Homebrew scene (see my older posts) and my criticism is good hearted.

if you want to load your disc from disc chane. don't use dml.

What? I'll stop asking for disk channel when DML runs ALL GC games perfectly fine, DML has to "add" the ability to run games via USB NOT remove the original codes, though on their defense they did say that running disks was removed temporarily, it's still a huge downside of the new DML!

Still comparing the upsides and downsides of it, I'll have to go with DML 1.3 it just floats my boat, but I'm still keeping the wad file for DML r58 in case I needed to run disks "Resident Evil Code Veronica comes to mind" or if I wanted to use my other 8GB SD which doesn't work with the new DML, otherwise I'm sticking with DML 1.3!

so was mine, i didn't mean to sound rude or what ever, it's just some times you have to go backward in order to go forward.( working in constuction for 23yrs. so i'm going off that, you can't change a floor plan 75% in to the job, an expect the changing to not screw other things up.) an i think thats whats happening, they removed all the code from nintendo, so it might have caused some things to break.(like disc loading). an in a big way this is progress, cause they got dml to work as good as it is so far, when for a long time, no one was sure it could be done. an now it is, an with out using code from nintendo.. i consider this BIG progress.
 
Come on people, you still have to use a loader to play the games through SD, so you might as well launch the discs through said loaders until such time as disc-channel based loading gets reinstated.

2) use DML 0.59
3) use DML 1.3

You can ask all you want for features, but it won't help. Either code it yourself or offer crediar money. Otherwise just wait until what he wants aligns with what you want.
 
This is what crediar wrote on the Google code site Apr 20:

-removed retail disc support (will be added back in the near future)

So what is all the fuss about?

Use wiigator/wiipower cMIOS and use backup/multi/retail discs in conjunction with Neogamma, but no sd card. ( only for older Wii's )
 
I already asked a similar question in the neek2o thread and wish to ask, if DML works better with either 32kb or 64kb cluster size formatted cards?
