It seems to choose a "compatible" SD card is very important and critical to use DML v1.2+.
The "compatible" SD card is also the key to have
"no disc" worked (no need to change "no disc patch" in the loader) according to my tests.

Well I didn't know that, thanks for clearing that up :)

Are you sure about that (running burned discs)?

Tested it with NeoGamma of course because the disk channel won't recognize it, it seems to work fine and you get the game code, however you will still get the last game you booted on DML!

-Video looks stunning as if you're playing on a real Wii, the old DML gave decent graphics like running the game on Dolphin though
-While running disks is still not quite functional, it allows you to run burned disks now, the old DML didn't

What? That's bullshit! Who made that up?

BTW: DML 1.3 is great!

Well with all respect I'm only posting my experience, I tested Megaman X Collection for example, the old DML would give me bad graphics for the cutscenes, I thought my memory was messing with me before but when I tested it with the new DML, the cutscenes look a lot better now and really gave me the true experience I had playing with disks, however if you can confirm this is wrong then my apologies, I was only trying to help!

I know you're trying to help,I'm not offended or anything.
And I certainly would not offend you in any way but,
The only way to make your games "look" better is through the use of component cables.
In other words interlaced vs progressive mode.

DML does not make your game look better by default.

Hey guys, just found something VERY interesting:
https://code.google.com/p/diosmios/
Its a new diosmios svn, not diosmioslite, so I have the feeling this tweet means usb loading is now working, I think we should watch this link, may something big happens.

I think that this may be the golden day of Wii's Homebrew!
I really hope that soon someone (or crediar himself) confirms this!

I updated to DML 1.3 because my previous version did not like ANY of my ripped DVDs except for the WindWaker Bonus Disc. I was playing Ocarina Master Quest the last weeks and now DML 1.3 does not let me continue :( I noticed too late that 1.0+ makes Ocarina crash :( Too bad. Now I have to put in the DVD again.

Interesting.... and curious, considering Devolution is supposed to be released soon.....

But... Don't forget, Devolution is a emulator though which runs within Wii Mode.

Anyway... at this rate, DML will be better than the original cMIOS (which was created by WiiGator and WiiPower).

I couldn't get Ocarina of Time (Wind Waker's Bonus Disc) to work with v1.3 either. It might be to do with DOL loading, as to why it's not working.

I think this time DM will run in Wii mode. Don't quote me on that, though.

It's not an emulator.

hey guys..i see that dml got updated to 1.3,,,I'm not a regular on this thread and wanna try it out so I was wondering where can I get the "new" dml (wad) for 1.3 (as well the old rev 59) ,the tool to convert it to the new format also what loaders support the new format?

@187skillz: you can download DML v1.3, GCReEx (new format) & DiscEx (old format) from here

As for r58, you can find that here.
Follow FIX94's tutorial to compile it or get it through ModMii (download page 4).

Edit: I don't know, where to find r58 though.

See my DML thread in the tutorial section, there I wrote down how and what to use ;)

Maybe we need a DM speculation thread now aswell? hah

We can use this thread:http://gbatemp.net/topic/304789-dios-mios-lite-proof-of-concept-release/ :P
Edit: Whoops, I failed, thought that was the original DM topic.

Guys, the legend of zelda collectors edition isn't working for me. When I start it the main menu comes up, but when I select a game It doesn't start and I just get a black screen. It's been compressed. Should I try it uncompressed?
Yeah, I had that issue, too, back when you had to burn Gamecube games to disks. I compressed it and it stopped working for me. It should work fine if it's uncompressed.

here is A retool of the tranforming gc channel, it's a pain in the ass to do. i have the channel icon real nice, but the main splash screen is the problem i'm having.( after playing with it, can't tell if it's the graphics or the way it's supposed to look do to the brtyl(?) file.) so i'll still work on it. even after finding out the hardway, that once it finishes the final gc look the banner goes backwardes.( a- h then h-c.)

Bad sides:
-Running retail disks while the feature is added back it still runs the last game you ran through DML instead
-I'm not sure if when running disks is fixed games that don't work with DML like Phantasy Star would work or not
I used WiiFlow-mod r480 and disk loading worked fine. You're right that it doesn't work from the disk channel yet. You do have to use a loader that has specifically been programmed for v1.3.
Good sides:
-Video looks stunning as if you're playing on a real Wii, the old DML gave decent graphics like running the game on Dolphin though
Maybe you're talking about choppy cut-scene video from slower reading times. My games all looked fine ... then again, I don't have the games you have.
-While running disks is still not quite functional, it allows you to run burned disks now, the old DML didn't
My tests with burned disks didn't work. I only tried one game, though. Maybe I should try a different one.
-Running a game with a disk in the drive is as simple as putting a disk inside, no need to compile two versions of DML one with nodisk being set to ON and the other set to OFF anymore
If you use the right loader, they should have been able to force those options for just the games you wanted them with. I guess with 1.3 it doesn't matter anymore, though.

Is this the same, as the other one or had there been some additions?

I think the splash screen needs a complete overhaul and replaced with a more fluid and smooth animation of the NGC Bootscreen. I did originally have a channel that did run smoothly, but it was buggy and led to that brick, when either + or - was pressed on the splash screen.

...led to that brick, when either + or - was pressed on the splash screen.
Okay, I'm not the only one that that happens to. Completely off topic but someone should figure out where that comes from on some people's custom channels and fix it so we can all make custom channels without problems. It's really annoying to have to power cycle the Wii just because we were scrolling through channels. It also seems to sometimes depend on what channel you're scrolling to/from.

Normally this isn't possible because on Wii you can't go back to the Wii menu in Gamecube mode, however the team added a cool feature that works in r58 and up, just press R+Z+Start on the GC controller "Player 1" and it'll reset your Wii, simple as that, however there are some games that still don't work like that such as Luigi's Mansion!
Interesting, I thought that was just a soft reset and brought you back to the beginning of the same Gamecube game similar to the reset button on the original Gamecube. (I haven't gotten around to trying it myself, though).
I'm not sure if soft reset is even possible, though it would be cool, if USB Loader can't soft reset Wii games I'm not sure if Gamecube could!
Finally occurred to me to check this out so I thought I'd mention it. I only tried with Wind Waker and Mario Sunshine so it's by no means complete but It looks like the reset button does SOMEWHAT work with DML v1.x. With both games when you push the button you can tell that the game received the soft reset command and performs it's little animation before resetting. (LoZ:WW fades black and Sunshine has a sort of a diamond shape that closes in on the screen leaving it black.) The only problem is that neither one actually starts over like they do with a retail disk and a clean MIOS. LoZ just freezes and Mario puts up a "Error, read the manual." message. (The last time I hit "reset" on an old DML revision it just turned off the Wii like the power button.). I also tried out the first controller button combination and to my pleasant surprise it effectively reset the Wii completely sending me back to the system menu (Which is what I usually hope to do when I reset it.).

Edit : come to think of it, I didn't test the reset button out with any retail disks but with the Nintendo code removed I assume there would no longer be any difference. The button combination seems to work fine, though, with real disks as well. I never use the reset button anyhow.
