Well i could never get 1.3 to work at all for me. It would always freeze at the loader screen.Never made any difference if i put in a retail wii game disc or not.
Occasionally it would load but then spit out a gamecube error refer to manual message.

So i had time today and tried a different sd card and the 1 game i tried booted fine every time.

So its an issue with the sd cards used.

Is this SD card compatibility issue something that can be fixed somehow in DML or do we just need to use cards that are more compatible.

Also note that the card that always freezes/spits out error message with 1.3 works perferct with R58/59 and has never gave me any issues with it.

v1.3 works great! the game lags were gone and fixed sound glitches too. :P thanks for the hardwork! I can play smoothly MGS and RE2 without the hiccups and sound glitches, though i still have problems with WiiFlow and CFG Loader loading different games, haven't tried your suggessted solutions yet, I'm using Neogamma to load GC games via DML and no problems at all. ;)

^ This confirms what I said, the new DML works perfectly fine with most SD cards and has more compatibility with better results, however it doesn't detect some SD cards sadly, I'm sure the team will find a fix for this eventually but until then if you could get a 32GB SD card that works with it like I did then you should have no problem with it!

What's the model # of the card you have?

The one I'm thinking about getting is this one.

http://www.amazon.com/Sandisk-SDSDU-032G-A11-Ultra-UHS-I-Class/dp/B007B5RIYI

Not sure if its the one people are using or not and i don't want to drop $30 on a card and then it not be compatible.

The one I got is exactly the same without "Ultra" and is class 4, I did find this at the mall as well but it was more expensive so I went for the other, might work too, idk!

Thanks for the info.

I'm gonna stick with r59 for now since its playing the games my kids want to play.

This weekend i might play around with the card some more and try it on dml 1.3 formatting it different ways to see if anything else works better.

this is mine, an as i said, i have had this one for three or four years. has loaded every thing i throw at it. an never crashed or burned.
loades dml 3.1 fine.set at fat 32/32k.. an check the price ;) more expecive dosn't always mean better.

I just tried a Sandisk 16GB card (http://www.amazon.com/Sandisk-SDSDU-016G-A11-Ultra-UHS-I-Class/dp/B007B5RIN4/)

It works perfectly by using CFG mod r30+DML v1.3 (FAT32/64k clusters).

Also "Shadow The Hedgehog" works with "no disc" by the above configuration.

save your energy, I tried it, didn't work, either get a new SD or wait for an update, in the mean time just stick with r59 it should work fine!

Edit: Looks like the others have confirmed this one to work fine!

Hey guys I just checked Dailysteals because it was past midnight.

They are selling a SanDisk 16GB Class 10 SDHC card for 13 bucks. Not too shabby considering I got a class 4 for the same price at walmart.

Guys, the legend of zelda collectors edition isn't working for me. When I start it the main menu comes up, but when I select a game It doesn't start and I just get a black screen. It's been compressed. Should I try it uncompressed?

I just got to try GC disks with DML 1.3, while the Wii recognizes the disk "original disks of course" when I run the disk it takes me to the last game I played in DML "which in this case is Sonic Gems Collection", though using NeoGamma the Wii seems to detect both original and burned disks, but it still loads Gems Collection, how can I make it to boot the disk I'm using?

P.S. running Wii disks works fine though, original or burned!

Did you try CFG mod r30 ? http://code.google.com/p/cfg-loader-mod/downloads/detail?name=cfg70MODr30.dol

No I haven't, I'll try it out when I get back from the hospital and report the result!

Edit: I have tested it very quickly and it gives me the same issue, I'm off to the hospital now "nothing serious don't worry" and I'll check again when I get back!

In the meantime I decided to write down a comparison between both versions of DML for those who haven't updated and wanted to know the differences, very quickly:

Bad sides:
-The new DML doesn't detect all types of SD cards like the old one, hopefully it'll be fixed in the future
-Running retail disks while the feature is added back it still runs the last game you ran through DML instead
-I'm not sure if when running disks is fixed games that don't work with DML like Phantasy Star would work or not

Good sides:
-No more "error cannot read disk" messages
-Almost all games now work with no disk inserted
-Loading times are much faster now
-Video looks stunning as if you're playing on a real Wii, the old DML gave decent graphics like running the game on Dolphin though
-While running disks is still not quite functional, it allows you to run burned disks now, the old DML didn't
-Running a game with a disk in the drive is as simple as putting a disk inside, no need to compile two versions of DML one with nodisk being set to ON and the other set to OFF anymore

It's up to you guys, personally I don't see myself going back to the old DML but if you think it's not worth it it's up to you, you can always go back to the old DML if you want!

It seems to choose a "compatible" SD card is very important and critical to use DML v1.2+.
The "compatible" SD card is also the key to have
"no disc" worked (no need to change "no disc patch" in the loader) according to my tests.

What? That's bullshit! Who made that up?

BTW: DML 1.3 is great!

Using DML 1.3 with Wiiflow (open-wiiflow-mod) r280.

- My Wii is connected to a 480i CRT via component.
- GC games boot up in progressive scan (480P), regardless of specifying 480i in Wiiflow.
- If running from SD, usually a progressive scan selection screen appears.
- GC games no longer run from the disc channel. Upon loading, the Wii switches to 480P and hangs - no progressive selection screen.
- GC games run very smoothly from SD - no noticeable lag like earlier versions.
- DML still check the drive for a disc, even though "no disc" is enabled in Wiiflow.

Well I didn't know that, thanks for clearing that up :)

Tested it with NeoGamma of course because the disk channel won't recognize it, it seems to work fine and you get the game code, however you will still get the last game you booted on DML!

Well with all respect I'm only posting my experience, I tested Megaman X Collection for example, the old DML would give me bad graphics for the cutscenes, I thought my memory was messing with me before but when I tested it with the new DML, the cutscenes look a lot better now and really gave me the true experience I had playing with disks, however if you can confirm this is wrong then my apologies, I was only trying to help!

The graphics should look exactly the same. Older versions of DML had problems with stuttering on some scenes. What's different is that playback should now be smooth, just like the disc. It isn't as if DML is rendering any differently.
