Okay , got past the GCloader screen , now guess what ? i got a black screen :(

Game : Shadow the hedgehog

Loader : CFG v70r28

Dont know why i updated , thought it would give some improvments (even though nothing was wrong)

I just tested the same game (Shadow the hedgehog, GUPE8P) by using CFGv70r28+DML v1.3
and everything is fine. I don't have any problem to load/start this game.

Note: I use GCReEx to convert the ISO (GCReEx -x then -c) and put them in a FAT16/64k clusters 2GB
SD card.
Also I put a Wii game disc (Wii Sports Resort) in the drive in order to start this game.

Actually Shadow The Hedgehog works fine with DML 1.3 with no disk and converted with DiskEX but the issue he's having and everyone else is that the new DML can't detect all types of SD cards like the old one!

tell them they better go get their piggy banks and their hammers

Looks like he is asking for another round of donations, probably in exchange for new features. Probably Triforce or USB loading?

well i have had a transend?( i believe that's the name of my card, the sticker is completely worn off) from day one. an it's never cause a fuss, or the wii never refused to read it. it's a 8gb class 4. dml works great with it, though transferring the game from a loader was a pain.(10-15 min) so i just added the few games i have to the sd card.

tell them they better go get their piggy banks and their hammers...

Is this a joke? merchandise FIRST, then get payed, beggar.

merchandise? crediar action figures?
crediar didn't say anything he just tweeted a quote made by pune.

also it is written paid

Well, I've decided to mess around with that new patched 480p mode to see if it makes some of the progressive incompatible games look better, I'll post my findings here:

Megaman X Collection: Works so far, but menu graphics are glitched to hell. Everything looks like a mess of multiple screens overlaying one another. FMV sequences load up in multiple screens, usually 2, that float around the top of the screen. Battle and Chase (the racing unlockable) Works perfectly and looks great! A lot better than without the patch.
Everything else plays on 2, stretched screens like the FMVs. So it looks great for Battle and Chase, but everything else is broken.

Tales of Symphonia: Crashes after checking for Memory Card, probably around when the FMV is supposed to play, I'd assume.

Skies of Arcadia Legends: Looks good so far, no issues

Megaman Network Transmission: Looks good, no issues

Dragon Ball Z Budokai 2: Doesn't work, boots to a black screen with a green line on it.

Either one of these two is worth an update for me, a part of me wishes for USB loading :D

I have a SanDisk 32GB and a Nintendo 500MB ones and they work fine however my Sony 8GB is giving me this same issue despite it working fine with the old DML and just about everything else on Wii, I have tried formatting it several times with same issue and many people reported this very same problem so it's an issue with DML not the memory!

merchandise? crediar action figures?

DO WANT!

2 Questions with version 1.3 :
1. For those of us with older Wii's that can read DVD-R, does "real disk loading" mean ONLY retail disks or does that include burned backups, too?
2. With all Nintendo code gone, is the compatibility for retail disks now the same as running them off the SD?
I would like to know that aswell...
Ok, did a couple of tests over the weekend and I was rather surprised that "real disk loading" doesn't actually mean it can load them from the disk channel ! It just gets stuck at a nearly blank GCLoader spIash screen guess it means it only works from a loader that has been set up to use it. I've tried running it from an old loader that uses the old gamecube disk loading methods, instead of loading the game from the drive, it loads the last game I had opened off of the SD card.

I'm gonna update my WiiFlow-mod to a version that officially supports 1.3+ disk loading and report back but just thought I'd throw that out there first.

Edit : As a feature request, I would say it would be really nice if it could load real disks from the disk channel as well. The added splash screen while loading from the disk channel is pretty cool IMO . . . but it would be nice if it actually LOADED.

Thank you for the info.Did you test Wiiflow Mod?

Yes, WiiFlow-Mod r280 works great with retail disks. I tested it also with a DVD-R backup that had run fine under a cMIOS and it froze on the "loading apploader" message. All the disk channel does is load the last game you ran from the SD card. Even when the last Gamecube game I had actually run was a real disk it still ran the previous game I had run from the SD.
This was possible until retail disc loading was added. Just insert a GC disc.
Actually, since you mentioned it, I went back and did a test on that, too. diosmioslite versions 1.0 - 1.2 don't even know what to do with a real disk. They also just run the last game played from SD. Real disk loading was taken out because it was part of the Nintendo code that was removed when they moved over to the new GoogleCode page.

This is the expected behavior, disc loading was re-added in 1.3:
1.3:
  • Added real disc loading, simply set the config value (see config.h) and load DML
  • Fixed a bug that would overwrite the config in GCLoader
  • Added pad reset/shutdown for real discs

What was the point of making DML its own wad? It seems to me that it would be more reliable to use Nintendo's well tested code as a base for retail discs. Or were you never using that?
Sigh. Anyway, distributing a legal WAD is far easier for everyone. Also, the only thing needed from the original MIOS was the GameCube IPL. GCLoader is a lot more flexible, and has some neat features.

So thats why i needed to revert back to r59 dml doesn't detect my sd card type correctly

What's the "sigh" for? I hope you didn't take my post to mean DML was unstable, because that's not what I was saying. I was under the impression that up until now DML has used the official MIOS app for running retail discs, meaning that the new loader had a few weeks of testing as opposed to like 6 years.

And this is very much why I got the courage to try it out, that and the fact I learned that you can always go back to the old DML if you wanted, and I must say for the updates the new DML is definitely worth it!
