Sorry but I don't support your point of view. People are only reporting issues they have with this new revision of DML. I don't see any fault into expressing their issues and looking for support on this thread dedicated for DML related stuff.

Yes, It's obvious that's the only way to debug a homebrew. What I mean it's this thread has thousands of posts with people saying that things don't work, even though there have many, many, many clarifications about the issues of having enabled nmm, no-disc or even basic SD hadling (among other stuff). One thing is testing, another is not knowing what the hell are your doing and blaming the devs for it. Hopefully you see my point now.

This thread is about helping those who don't know what to do, reporting issues and asking for help is what this thread is all about, if you don't like it that's fine but don't call people childish for doing what they were asked to do!

Ive been playing gamecube games for week. Now when Im trying to launch any game I just have getting blackscreen. Whats problem?

Which version of DML and what loader are you using? Also did you change anything in the settings? Some loaders like Postloader gives the black screen a lot and the solution is simply deleting the settings!

I love the fact that GCReEx can actually repack extracted files back into an ISO again. I asked if there was a program that could do that about 2 months ago and voila, Crediar does it again. Thanks dev team for all your hard work. I really like that the .app is available for download to install into sneak easily and the WAD for real NAND. I hope you continue to do provide that method for d/loads in the near future as I see that what was available was deprecated. So far DML v1.0/1.1 worked for me, and I can use component cables again with 1.1 so thanks again guys.

Rebuilds GC ISOs so it can change file sizes. It has been around since Melee mods started or so.

hu? Games that got larger? what game does that? Almost all games should get smaller via the -c option of DiscEX
What's with you? I've been following your posts and I don't get it your constant rant, don't go on the defensive everytime someone posts a situation or something buggy about dml. Why do you take it personal like you have something to do with the project?
If you haven't figured out who "SanGor" is, you're beyond help.

Unless he admit it he is still just "Sangor" and "Sangor" doesn't deserve any respect however his "alter Ego" does deserve a lot of respect. ;)

If he was crediar, then im guessin he would give some advice as to how to solve our problems, instead than just attack us for being confused. And if not, then he's just a fuckin dick. If he's crediar then his WORK gets my respect, but his attitude makes me give him no respect at all.

i'm so going try two games with this when i have the time and money for the sd card and wavebirds.

How do I make GCReEx work? I really need a tutorial on this everytime it asks me for game.iso|folder I have no clue what to do? is this for Gamecube ISO's or DiscEX please tell me how this works?

Thanks,
TrapperKeeperX

Copy and paste either of the following into Notepad, then save it as a ".bat" file (change "Text Files" to "All Files" or else, it will save as a text file) in the same folder as GCReEx and your disc image:

Extraction
Code:
@echo off
ren *.iso game.iso
title GCReEx - Extraction
GCReEx.exe -x game.iso
del game.iso
echo.

pause

Rebuilding
TitleID needs to be changed to match the same ID, as to what you've extracted previously.
Code:
@echo off
title GCReEx - Rebuilding
GCReEx.exe -c GSPP69
echo.
pause

Edit: I usually like to extract the disc image and then rebuild it, afterwards.

Hello! I have an question! If i extract an gamecube iso with GCReEx-v0.2b i got an folder , for example GKNEB2, can i just transfer this to my SD/Games folder and play or do i have to run it thruw DiscEX-v0.8b first?

If you've already extracted the disc image using GCReEx, move the created folder to "sd:/games".

There's no need to run it through DiscEx, as it will more or less do the same thing and only supports disc images. The only thing I will say is, make sure that you've got DML v1.1 installed on your console and a loader which supports it, as the format created from GCReEx isn't supported with revisions 52 - 59.

I wouldn't say there is much improvement, as the hook buttons to reset/turn off the console where changed back to the original in r59.

Then with v1.0, we have a new format of loading games (with included support for the DiscEx format as well), a replacement IPL and better no-disc support. Most of the options (i.e. NMM) from the original DML aren't available at the moment, but will be added back in at some point.

I wouldn't recommend using v1.1 at the moment (even though it's smaller than v1.0), as it ends up with a black screen without loading the IPL at all.

That's all I know, if someone wishes to expand on what I've just said.

Edit: just to add, video modes with the latest versions of DML is a bit buggy at the moment.

Although, It is configurable with Fix94's DML Loader v0.9 for v1.0 & v1.1 though (I'd suggest downloading the Channel which is currently available to download, if you already haven't got it).

Well... I can't answer that question personally, as it's none of my business. Lol

Although... I do know that the original code created for the NGC (Nintendo Gamecube) which was ported to the Wii as a MIOS was stripped out and replaced with a custom loading screen/IPL.

Many features that were supported with the previous DML will be eventually added back in at some point. No one knows when this will happen, apart from crediar and anyone else who is involved with the development of DML.

Changelog:

1.2:

  • DML is using GCLoader again
  • Improved video mode stuff
  • Changed config memory area to 0xC1200000
  • Added a new config for video modes: force prog mode patch
  • Moved SRAM patching code to GCLoader
  • In FST-Mode the game title is now printed

DML v1.2 works very well again, you can set all options now again like NMM, no disc patch etc. I already updated my DML booter for it, see here.
