A saves folder keeps being created in my SD root. I don't have NMM, and I didn't compile a custom version with the NMM code included. It's being saved to my GC memory card as well, so that's not a problem. I'm just wondering why it does that.

I also noticed when I start Wind Waker, I'm not prompted to switch to progressive scan (it does that using the original disc), but rather just stay in 480i as if I had composite cables. I've tried the latest versions of NeoGamma and postLoader.
Any thoughts on this?

Looking at the source: CardInit in Card.c is creating the saves folder if it doesn't exist.
Also, on my SD card at least (should be on yours too), each game I've played creates a stats.bin + sometimes other .bin files inside of /saves/[game ID], which is also in CardInit.

I don't want to be pain, but can someone explain it or point me somewhere in the web. Couldn't find any info on google.
I downloaded modmii about three weeks ago or a month ago.
Also how can I verify what version of 'BC' I already have?

in the create wad folder you download from this tutorial there is a file get_bc.bat run that it will make v6 BC for you as a wad install that with a wad mamanger. What is BC? to be honest not to sure its just what the wii uses to play gamecube games.

So that's half of it. It's probably remaining code for NMM support. That still doesn't explain it not detecting component cables.

Engert many of the games u say dont work for you work for me like eternal darkness, metal gear solid, viewtuifal joe 1&2 and both metroid boot up but just suffer from in game stuttering. I suggest you format your sd card to 64kb clusters and makes sure you have a clean v6 BC installed.
I will try your suggestion and report back. If it does make a huge difference, I think it should be noted at the beginning of this topic.
Also one more question, what's a BC?

I made the changes and tested Zelda twilight princess and it does not freeze anymore when there's a lot going on the screen. I think this "small detail" ( formatting the card to 64k) should be noted at the beginning of the thread in bold letters.

yup zelda didnt work for me either till i formatted to 64kb clusters.. most of the other games should work well aswell im just pissed star fox adventures doesnt work properly no audio :( damn audio streaming games probably wont be fixed either

Sorry if it already came up before, but have been reading some pages back and haven't got any real info about it:
How fast can a wii really read from a sdhc? Is this http://www.sweburn.com/product.php?productid=1826 overkill or is it just better the faster it is? Wouldn't be fun to buy something unnecessary.

Well, most devs had stated that if we go by logic a faster card will perform better but the results with DML games had demonstrated that most games performs equally weather you have a class 2 or a class 10 card meaning having a faster card doesn't guarantee you game play will be smoother as the Wii SD reading speed may be limited to a specific speed I don't really know. If you can afford the card then go for it as you as you never know how the develop of DML may turn, but right now having a fast card doesn't guarantee a better game play. I have tested many games up to a 6 class card and the performance is practically the same. The same good and bad points of "X" game are present in all the cards I've tried.

Thanks man, I think I will follow your advice and buy the card anyway. "Worst case scenario" I can just use the card for my camera.

Thanks for your suggestion. I will update my compatibility list during the week.

Is there anyway to have NMM working based on a memory card detection system?

For Example: If there's no memory card in either Slot A or B, then it would use your SD Card to save/load your game

The other possible way would be (through any loader which supports DML) to either choose to use NMM or not, regardless if a memory card is available.

I wish people would stop giving games "Working" status instead of "Issues" when there are big problems.
Erm...I could have been one of those. I can't but call it the way I see it: if the gameplay isn't hindered, I'll mark it "working". Of course, watching cutscènes may be choppy and audio streaming games surely miss part of their charm, but that's always mentioned.
To my knowledge, it's just fire emblem where I had doubts (yes, it's rather slow to enter battle, which is a large part of the game...but it doesn't hinder it, as it's turn based).

I'm curious to see how my same games play with 64k clustersize instead of 32... (SD card is still being reformatted).

"Issues" means it works, but has some problems that hinder gameplay.

AND JEZUS! Do I wish that all Wii games looked like that game! It's mind boggling really for such a relative "old" game....

Based exactly on this definition, i labeled my games as playable or unplayable.

For a GameCube game, this Zelda version is truly amazing. Before i formatted my card to 64k blocks, it would hang/freeze when there was a lot of activity on the screen (fighting enemies etc) and i had to reset the wii.
Now with the 64k cluster size, it runs unbelivebly smooth.

You shouldn't do that. You should follow the instructions at the top of the wiki.
  • Working - Games that work 100% or just have slight audio/video stutter or anything else that doesn't effect gameplay.
  • Issues - Games that mostly work but with more serious but playable bugs, or random lockups (random doesn't mean lock up every time at the same spot in the game).
  • Doesn't Work - Games that do not load and have major problems and/or are unplayable, or have consistent lock ups.

What i'm saying is that i agree with you after i read the compatibility list. When i was testing my games, i was looking at that list also.
And i didn't even know that i could edit that page.
By next week when i've re-tested all my games again with my newly formated SD card on 64KB cluster size, i will add it to the list following the guidelines.

I think the 64KB cluster size, should be noted at the begining of this topic, because it makes a huge difference.
