thats lines 440-470 in patches.c, i see no " / " characters to remove. if you did it would not help anything from what i can see.

for those lines to match up you obviously have to look at the first unchanged version of the DML source. i.e. r2

Yep, you just need to follow the changes then to patch it in again.
Someone should just make comments that can be searched.

Hey guys there's too many suggestions for formatting the SD card to work with DML, e.g. Fat32 64kb clusters; Fat16 64kb clusters and Fat32 32kb clusters.

Could we get a little clarification on how the devs or official testers format their SD cards for optimal compatibility? Fix94 maybe you can add something in your tutorial on best way to format SD card ;-)

This. I've also been wanting to know what the devs opinions are on the matter.

The sd lib never reads more than one cluster at once. Both SNEEK and DML greatly benefit using a card that is formatted as 64KB, so whether it's FAT or FAT32, that is what you want to aim for. Something else to keep in mind however is that speeds never go over ~2077KB/s sequential and about ~700KB/s random, so don't blow your cash on sd cards. Just get a sandisk. What it needs is new asm sd code.

i doubt its possible, but can you run DML this way?:

have sneek (uneek) run off usb, and the GC games on SD card? will it find the games on the sd card, or will it only look on the usb (which we know dml doesnt work on to begin with)

That's fine, I'm just saying by definition it's a cMIOS, since you are modifying MIOS.
The problem is that "cMIOS" is WiiGators project. If you call DML a cMIOS, you imply that:
  1. Crediar's work is somehow based on WiiGators work, which it is not.
  2. These projects are similar to each other, which they really aren't - they work in a completely different way.
  3. DML has the same functionality as "cMIOS", which it doesn't - it can't load DVD-Rs, which is the primary goal of cMIOS (it also can't load GC homebrew .dols easily)
Again, it is just disrespectful to call DML a "cMIOS".

There have been several cMIOS's. You might as well say that it's disrespectful to call hermes cIOS a cIOS, lol. If I were to change the version number of a clean MIOS, it would become a cMIOS.

A custom IOS is a cIOS. A custom BC is a cBC. A custom MIOS is a cMIOS. I'm not implying anything, I'm using the correct term.

All based on work done by WiiGator, yes. WiiGator decided to call his software "cMIOS".

Hermes himself called it a cIOS, and it's based on the same Toolkit as Waninkoko's cIOS and others: http://wiibrew.org/w..._Module_Toolkit - SNEEK and DML, however, aren't based on neimods toolkit.

If I were to change the version number of a clean MIOS, it would become a cMIOS.
If you'd call it like this, yes.

A custom IOS is a cIOS. A custom BC is a cBC. A custom MIOS is a cMIOS. I'm not implying anything, I'm using the correct term.
I don't want to get personal, but it seems like you only started following the Wii 'scene' recently. There is no 'correct term'. Nintendo doesn't call it a "cIOS", so it's up to the developer to name his project. If you falsely call DML "cMIOS", you disrespect crediar as he named his project "DIOS-MIOS Lite" and not "SD-loading cMIOS" with a purpose.

I'm agree with snikerz. Crediar called it DML, we should call it DML. The right thread is simply "DIOS-MIOS Lite: Custom MIOS replacement". I really do not understand this "debate" :D

imho, obviusly :P

Historically, the first "cMIOS" wasn't called "cMIOS" either: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Wii_Gamecube_Homebrew_Launcher

Understand that I agree it should be called DML, but it IS a custom MIOS.

As for me entering the Wii scene recently, that's not true. I've been around since the first twilight hack, I just recently joined temp. I only did it to ask someone for permission to host his project in a guide, but ended up getting sucked in, lol.
