^That might be a good idea, but what I really think is, they should code the entire thing, then ask for, say, 500 dollars to pay the coders (the team) for the work, and then they'll do a public release.

The problem with having a price for every feature would be that the Team would no longer work as a Team.
Every programmer would work on it's own feature and no longer inform the others about the progres. I don't
think the major problem here is the funding of the project. It's more the level of difficulty of the project. A lot of the
source code is undocumented and hard to follow. So, it will take us a while to figure things out before we can start improving
things.
This doesn't mean that g0dlike shouldn't at least be refunded for his purchase price of the package.
While it's always nice to be rewarded for your work, it's not our major motivation factor.
Maybe other dev's feel different about this.

I see your point, but I didn't mean for developers to work without cooperation. I was more thinking in terms of priority. At this point I know the basics need to be worked out before anything else which would just be one item on the agenda, but even then it takes allot of time and effort to program. Even something simple like TicTacToe requires allot of time. (especially if you work outside the box like I did and program one with 10 thousand lines of code defining and overly complicated AI .lol) Since programmers could be using their time on other things I think it's fair that to assume that at the very least a project can potentially move along faster with financial support especially if people know how much faster it could go with support. When it goes beyond that stage I was thinking in terms of how everyone will request something and how a given team would be better off getting paid for those requests.

That kinda defeats the idea that donations would help progress move along, but holding hostage a completed product that someone wants I guess could work. lol

The idea of only releasing after some fund is gathered didn't work out very well for gianpune.
Team TT was working on the same thing and simply released while he was waiting, and now they get all the fame for it.
I don't know the exact details of what happend, so don't flame me for incorrect statements, just correct them.

I do not know the details either, but I somehow doubt that someone just develop another DML and release it... It is quite a bit more complicated than the letterbomb exploit. Guintpune also told he had found the exploit, so Team TT knew what to look for... If it is a good idea to get funding the suggested way I am not to judge.

I'm amassing my Gamecube collection and ripping them in anticipation. Expect a donation from me in a week or so when I get my paycheck. Which method is preferred? PayPal or Moneybookers? What is the goal? To reimburse the source buyout?

Really looking forward to this!

Nope it isn't. It's based upon sneek and we are currently working to improve that a little.
It just takes more time than we expected.

Ok, some people have asked me if they could join the project, I would say every help is welcome to get things done.

Keep up the good work guys :D If you need a wii to test out anything, give me a shout, I have preloader and a recent nand backup, so my wii can be fixed and you can use whatever you want on it, a 2 tb harddrive with 500 gigs put aside for my wii, and several large sd cards that i can use for test purposes. I am on almost all the time, so just send me a pm :D

I would help you, but i don't see much i could do. Only thing that comes to my mind is the Wind Waker dungeon map freeze, and that's fixed in 5 min if you look at NeoGamma's code for it. Although Swiss uses that code and manages to not get it to work...

About cross over projects. Since DML requires Sneek+DI, i expect that it just uses the same select game di command for gamecube games and wii games at the same time. NeoGamma already supports booting games from Sneek+DI with the game selection inside NeoGamma, so i think adding DML gamecube support would just take a few minutes. Well actually the only required change might be to not ignore gamecube titles...

Anyways, considerung that i spend weeks on NeoGamma's gamecube code, if somebody of your team has a question for me, ask.

Thanks mate, your help is appreciated. I´ll gladly come back to you.

Hey guys! I'm looking to join the project team. I have programmed in java specifically, but I should be able to learn C pretty quick.

Hey guys! I'm looking to join the project team. I have programmed in java specifically, but I should be able to learn C pretty quick.

Any experience with Wii software? Or gamecube software? Or any game loaders for any console? ASM?

Android os specifically. Know a little opengl. If you don't mind I'm taking this as a more learning based project. I'm not sure how much ill be able to do at the beginning. I haven't had console experience, but I can learn pretty quick

I don't have any coding experience but I have access to 3 different Wiis (1 launch white, 1 non-launch white, 1 red) for testing purposes. I would donate but I'm currently unemployed but I look forward to good things from this project. The dev roster is perfect and I think you guys will be able to succeed in making DM/DML a fully functional loader. I'm definitely holding out on getting a WODE to see what you guys can come up with.

Best of luck!

NIce to see people to help but sigh; If only Crediar were still here.....
